Ovulating naturally after trigger shot - I think I might… 😕

Does anyone know what the stats/% are for ovulating naturally before egg collection?

I have a rapid onset LH surge normally, and previous temps/charting/testing show I can ovulate within 12-24 hours of the LH peak. Therefore I’m very concerned I will ovulate in the 36 hours before my trigger shot and egg collection.

Any advice or reassurance? Is there any flexibility for taking the trigger a little later?

I had this exact same worry in August on my first IVF cycle. I have the LH surge and literally overnight will ovulate and have the associated pains and temp rise after, I know which side I've ovulated on even. I brought this up to my clinic and they seemed a bit skeptical about it but assured me that the trigger isn't LH, its HCG, so similar but not the same. I was so tender after the trigger and was freaking out that I'd ovulated all those follicles and my pelvis would be swimming with fluid, but I hadn't:)
They got 7 eggs and all mature, all fertilised so they were spot on with their timings, 25 hours after the trigger shot.

Sorry meant 37 hours after ** have you had your shot?

You are usually given daily shots of a drug which prevents/lowers LH levels so this would help to prevent premature ovulation - did you had a second shot in around cycle day 9?

The trigger shot isn't to "trigger" ovulation as such it's more to mature the eggs and also loosen them a little so that they are more easily extracted
