Blocked tubes and IVF

Hi,

Just wanting to hear some others experiences that might be similar to mine so I can prepare myself for what’s to come!

Im 27 and recently had a lap and dye were I was told that both of my tubes were blocked due to endometriosis, although not fluid filled. I have been trying for a baby for 2 years and had one miscarriage previously (very early and likely ectopic/prior to complete tubal blockages).

My consultant said that IVF is our only option and we are hoping to move forward with this in a couple of months.

Would love to hear any words of wisdom/similar experiences

xx

Hi, yes similar story to us I had endometriosis that destroyed my tubes I had surgery to repair but unfortunately was in a bad way and twisted so had them removed and pelvis normalised that surgery was Aug 2017 and Aug 2018 I started ivf injections. That round resulted in my daughter.

Unfortunately unrelated to Ivf she was born with a rare disease and very complex needs she's a blessing everyday. We started in June this year icsi with PGT testing and managed to have 3 eggs in the freezer not affected we are hoping for a transfer first week of October. I've found both processes so far not too bad this time I did get mild/moderate OHSS so that was a bit rubbish but got plenty of mature eggs so couldn't plan.

When are you hoping to start

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

Brilliant you had success with your first cycle! Glad to hear you didn’t find the process wasn’t too bad for you. So you must be close to your transfer now?

Frustratingly we are still waiting for funding, my consultant has applied for ‘exceptional funding’ as otherwise we would have to wait three years post miscarriage to qualify in our area… but if all goes to plan we are hoping to start to process November/December time!

@LolaBumble I was also diagnosed with a blocked tube and was put forward for IVF. As daunting it may sound, I found the whole process to be much better than I expected with next to no side effects. I'm currently 6 days post transfer, 3 days away from the official test day. Good luck with your cycle, stay positive X
