Ivf medication cost

Hi i'm just wondering roughly how much my ivf medication will cost. We are doing treatment through the nhs and will be paying the standard prescription charge. How much will all the medication cost me in total? I'm doing short protocol (antagonist) menopur, cetrotide and buserelin trigger plus the progesterone pesseries. I know costs might slightly vary but i'm just looking for a ball park figure of how much i'll be paying for my prescriptions. Many thanks

Hello, I had similar medications and same protocol but went private, so nay be slightly different, but it cost me £1800. Good luck with your first cycle! I didn't realise you paid for the meds on the nhs!

@Cookiechoc I'm five days past transfer but not feeling super positive yet, keep reading about positives by now and barely a squinter for me atm, but I got 5 embryos in the freezer from my first cycle plus the fresh transfer so still feel it went great :) it also depends on how much meds you have, so I had 300 iu menopur daily as my amh was 16 and afc 21, but if you have lower amh they give you a higher dose so more expensive, and again for higher amh a lower dose etc.

@Cookiechoc I am in Wales so all prescriptions are free how ever I have had short protocol and long protocol.

Short protocol
Prescription 1 Northesteroine

Prescription 2 both sets of stim injections and trigger injection and pessaries for post egg transfer

Long protocol

Prescription 1 Burserelin for down reg instead of Northesteroine.
Both sets of stim injections and trigger
And pessaries for post Egg transfer

BFP

Prescription 2 further pessaries.

Hope this helps both time although more meds on long protocol only 2 prescriptions.

Hi. I had NHS IVF and I didn't have to pay for my medication. It may be worth checking with your clinic
