Your story for an IVF sibling

Hi,

I'm just wondering what your stories are for a sibling after IVF for baby no.1.

Mine is summer 2019: fresh, failed
Autumn 2019: FET, success, baby 1 born in summer 2020
Spring 2021 FET for baby 2. Failed.
Summer 2021 FET for baby 2. BFP but m/c 1 week later.

We have 1 frozen left but I guess we are heading towards another egg collection. In 2019 we got 5 blastocysts and out of 4 so far, 1 success.

I'm nearly 35 now so my age is and added worry to the mix. Please tell me what your story is. I'm wondering:

-Do I even bother transfering the last embryo or go straight to a new egg collection?
Do we change clinic? My husband is concerned about cost but I think it's worth paying for and maybe worth trying one of the London ones. It's so hard.

I'd consider trying the remaining embryo because your egg quality will have been better then? But asap so you can go onto new collection if needed quickly.

@Sofie19 sorry you've had a hard road and sorry for your recent loss. Although 35 feels old, it really isn't in IVF terms so I would definitely transfer that last embryo before proceeding further unless you want more than one sibling.

My story is not a cheerful one I'm afraid. We have a DD from round 2 but have done a lot since Including transferring 2 tested euploid embryos (all at fancy London clinics) and my final transfer hasn't worked - I've not got to test day yet but when you've done as many cycles as I have, you know, right?

It's been a long long road and we've ultimately come out of it with nothing. I can't regret it because we know we tried everything but equally if I could have avoided any part of it then I would have.

So my personal opinion is to transfer what you have first and hope this is the one. Best of luck xxx

For sibling I did

fet of pgs embryo fail
fet 2 of pgs embryo fail

realised I had scarring in uterus post section and a c section niche - surgery to tidy

fresh cycle done at 36. 2 normal pgs embryos.

fet 3 - baby girl born . I stayed with same clinic throughout as they knew me well from baby 1

(for my son I had 3 fresh and 4 fet - miscarried all of them as well as 2 natural pregnancies.)

it’s so hard. I would transfer your last one and then decide if u want to go again with a fresh plenty of women do fresh when older and 36 isn’t considered old in ivf world

xx
