How soon did you try again after a failed cycle?

Did you try again right away or did you take a break? How did you decide when the time was right? What advice were you given by clinics?

My May cycle (egg collection on the 25th May) ended on 10th June with a negative test. I had my follow up (wtf) consultation with the clinic on 19th July where I expressed my interest in staring another cycle. I was asked to call in with my August CD1 (which was on 20th Aug), I am currently waiting for my protocol to come through, but my next egg collection is likely to be in early October.

It feels like ages, but it wouldn't have been much sooner else where I imagine.

At my clinic there seems to be one cycle between.

After the negative test I get in touch with the nurses, they schedule me in for a follow up with the consultant three weeks later, then once I’ve had that I’m added to the list for another FET. I had my consultation yesterday, then emailed the nurses and I can start again once I get CD1 next week, they sort the drugs out in the meantime. So it’s quite quick, but at my age (39) I don’t want to have to wait longer to try again because time is not on my side.

I should add, if you mean egg collection cycle it’s an additional month, so 2 after months later maybe. I think it’s because they let your cycle get back to normal in between.

Docs usually give individual recommendations based on how ready your are psychically and mentally. Some women might need one month to be ready for their next treatment, while others might need 6 months or more, and that is also okay.
