FET after miscarriage

I had a fet in June which has sadly ended in miscarriage. This is my first miscarriage so not really sure how quickly my body will get back to normal - I guess it probably varies for everyone.

I'd like to jump straight back into doing another FeT round as soon as my body has recovered.

Just wondering.. if anyone has been in a similar situation.. when did you contact the clinic to let them know about the miscarriage and rebook in for future rounds. Were you able to start again from the first normal period or did you have to wait a month/few months.

Ideally I don't want to wait at all and just crack on with moving forward.

@duckling3 So sorry for your pregnancy loss, such a hard thing to go through.
I would recommend speaking to your clinic straight away. If your loss hasn't been confirmed already by the NHS, then they may want to run an internal ultrasound to check that the miscarriage is complete before making recommendation on next steps.

I phoned the clinic after my loss and the called me straight in the next day for an internal scan & confirmed a complete miscarriage. They booked in my follow up consultation straight away, for an appointment 2 weeks later. They recommended one normal cycle before starting again, and this was on the caveat that my cycles had stabalised back to normal (as I was doing a natural FET). My first period after the miscarriage was slightly delayed (33 days vs. my normal 27) but the the next period snapped straight back to regular timings and I was able to have my next FET on that cycle (60 days after miscarriage). I think I was quite lucky that my periods returned to regular quite quickly and I know that it isn't always the case. Some women have to wait up to 6 weeks for their first period after a miscarriage, and then it takes a few month to return to regular cycles.
I have heard of some clinics allowing you to cycle straight away, esp if you are having a medicated FET where you don't really need to wait for periods to regulate, but it depends on what your protocol will be. Most clinics do however recommend having a short break to allow hormones and body to recover.

Wishing you all the luck for your next cycle, and whilst I completely understand the wait is incredibly frustrating, try and take some time for yourself and let your body (and mind!) greive and heal before going again.

@duckling3 how did things go? I am waiting to miscarry from my fresh transfer and I very much want things to pass quick to move onto FET.

@duckling3 hiya, im sorry to hear about your miscarriage 💔. I myself miscarried last week after a fresh cycle, we also want to get straight back into it, even though we are totally devestated we've come to far to give up... i have a review with the clinic tomorrow, to discuss the transfer of our 1 remaining embryo..what were you advised? X

@Winnie270204 they didn't say anything other than things happen and they will start the next transfer when I want. Nothing will change, they won't investigate anything.

@Fox01 thanks for getting back to me.
Did they say you would need to wait for a period in between or go on the next one?

I had the miscarriage cycle which lasted 40 days then started the meds on this next cycle and I will get my scan in a few days to see if lining is OK for going ahead. They said that don't like to push for the cycle after as they can be busy and might not fit people in so soon and to give the person time. In my case, they had space and I've been trying for almost 3 years so I don't really want more time but everyone is different. Hopefully you get. I'm starting to find that you need to push for things to happen but they will do what they want at the end of the day.
