IVF - Follicles too big at baseline scan

Hi, today I had my baseline scan day 3 of cycle and was all ready to start my first IVF cycle. At the scan I had 6 follicles on one side and 7 on the other is this good? However, one of the follicles was a bit bigger than they would have liked so it was decided to cancel this cycle. I was a little gutted as I was excited and mentally prepared to start treatment but understand it’s best to wait. So I have been prescribed provera to take from day 19-25 and then once my AF starts to book in for a baseline scan again to check follicles are not so big at that point next cycle and hopefully begin treatment. I was wondering if anything similar happened with anyone else and how it went, as I’ve looked online and seems most people take provera to bring on periods because they don’t have regular periods but I have regular periods.

@1stcycle provers will shut down your ovaries and reduce hormones and give them a break, it's very common for this or Northesteroine or Burserelin to be used for this purpose in IVF so that the clinic essentially take over your cycle and co trip what happens a little more.

@PMAmostofthetime thanks for the info, hope it works and can go ahead next cycle.

@1stcycle how did you get on with Provera and the following cycle? I hope you didn’t have any more larger follicles.
I’m in a similar position where my follicles were slightly too big and my bloods came back with FSH of slightly above 250 so my first cycle has been pushed out to January from November due to the Christmas break.
