Hey - sorry if this is TMI! But please read if you have taken metformin for pcos before xx
Trying for our first baby and found out I have pcos after a miscarriage last year, and up to now I hadn’t had a period for 3 months.
Been prescribed metformin and at about 6 weeks after taking it I had what I thought was a light period, constant light flow that lasted 4 days no cramping.
however 2 weeks later I’ve been on metformin for 8 weeks now and this is definitely AF in full swing!started off with bad cramps and then started the heaviest flow I’ve had! Lots of clots! It started off really dark brown black blood for days an now it’s just a heavy flow now a deep red with clots still after 6 days , no sign of it slowing down!
II’ve also had sore boobs for about 3 weeks now! They would usually stop hurting by now but still feel larger and sore. I’ve also broke out in spots which I never usually get!
Just to rule out im not pregnant I have done multiple early test before bleeding started and yesterday all negative ofcourse.
just wanted to know if this is normal for a period when on metformin? What was your experience with it?
I wonder if this is just my hormones getting better… or worse 🙈
(Just to mention I’ve also been taking vitamins and inositol along side)
