Repeat AMH levels

Hi all, my OH and I had one round of unsuccessful IVF last year. My AMH levels at the time were very low so I knew that there was a risk that things wouldn’t go our way. Fast forward a year later and I’m ready to try again and have been looking at DE options - mainly clinics abroad. I’ve had my AMH levels rechecked this week (out of curiosity) and my levels have increased from last year. Still not amazing but at 42 I was expecting the worst. AMH is now 1.3. Now I don’t know what to do…should we try again for IVF or go straight for DE. Financially it would be a risk, if the IVF doesn’t work a second time, I really don’t know if we can afford DE. Any advice at all would be great…I’m not sure what to do!!!!🤦‍♀️

@Eiremogra I have seen some ladies on here talk clinics abroad offered by a tender cycle where they had one of their own eggs and one DE put in? Maybe this would be a more cost effective option? X

@PMAmostofthetime Thankyou…I’ll have a look and see what I can find. Maybe that would be an option? I’ve never heard of the term ‘tender cycle’…

@Eiremogra Good luck :)

Can I just quickly jump on and ask if there was anything in particular you did which helped increase your AMH??

Thank you Flowers

@ffiffi123 honestly nothing intentionally! I had been taking double dose Folic Acid daily for the last few months (a friend was recommended that she do this as she is over 40 and all ladies over that age who are TTC should up the dose of Folic Acid). I’ve been feeling run down recently,lots of colds and feeling miserable so started VitB complex, Zinc and floradix in the hope of boosting my immune system. I was very surprised my AMH had increased, since it was checked last year I’ve been under a lot of stress at work and at home tbh. I was expecting the worst!! If my AMH levels had been this last year we would have met the criteria for a free NHS IVF cycle….I was told last year that my AMH levels were ‘negligible’ so we paid for our first IVF cycle x
