IVF Day 3 transfer

Hi All,

Thought I'll start this little thread on the hope to get some support and reassurance! We've had our 3 day transfer of an 8 cell grade 1 embryo on 21 July, had 11 eggs retrieved, 9 fertilised, 1 transferred and 1 grade 2 frozen, the rest didn't quite make it which is a bit disappointing. We've been trying to conceive since 2018 and lost 3 pregnancies, one at 6 weeks, one BO and one chemical...
My OTD is not until 3 August and the wait is absolutely killing me, my head is all over the place at the moment, one minute I'm feeling positive and then I'm convinced it hasn't worked..
Please share your much needed success stories...

Julie xx

Not a success story.... yet but my OTD is 1st of August. So just over here to offer support. I had 20 eggs retrieved, 18 fertilised, 3 made it one day 5 on board 2 in the freezer. This is my 2nd cycle. The wait is hard- but this forum really helps.
TTC since October 2016 never been pregnant.
2nd transfer. 1st cycle we transferred 1morula and 1cavitating morula.

How are you feeling I'm 8dp5dt today x

@PMAmostofthetime Thank you so much for your message! It definitely helps knowing I'm not alone here! I'm 7dp3dt and my head is all over the place, I feel emotional, my breasts are sore, I'm cramping and I feel like doing a test already (no self-control whatsoever haha)! I'm also very nervous to find out whether it's worked or not. Until September 2020 we found it very easy to get pregnant but all 3 pregnancies ended up in miscarriage and we've not been able to get pregnant since.. So it's hard to stay positive...

Will share my story here.

Currently sitting here watching my 9 week old baby sleeping so peacefully in his cot.
I had a successful IVF/ICSI treatment last year in August/September. I had it with Create Fertility. Had a lot of side effects from the initial medication (Bemfola, Cetrotide and the HCG trigger don’t remember the name) and then Cyclogest. Felt nauseous, bloated, kept going to the toilet sometimes 5 times a day.. The day after the embryo transfer I started feeling unwell I’m the evening, started sweating, pulse was high, shaking and a little bit of blood came out so I thought the treatment hadn’t worked. It lasted for a few hours. The 2 week wait was stressful as I kept having all those symptoms (Cyclogest gave me a lot of side effects) and I just thought if the treatment hasn’t worked I just wanna stop taking Cyclogest as they have me so many side effects. Anyway I decided to take the first pregnancy test 10 days after embryo transfer and to my surprise it was positive, very faint positive but it was positive. I kept doing tests for the next 3 days and on the official test day it was still positive. The next few weeks was fukl
of anxiety as I kept thinking I’ll have a miscarriage, so I did pregnancy tests every 3-4 days. Had my scan at the clinic at week 7, think I went toilet that morning 3-4 times before the scan because I was so nervous (sorry tmi) 😂 scan showed a baby with a heartbeat of 128 🙏🏻
2 days after the scan I went toilet and when I wiped there was a little bit of fresh blood, spoke to midwife who said it was probably just sensitive cervix after the scan no blood after. Then the week after I started having dark brown spotting, was referred for a scan at the hospital (spotting lasted 2 days), I thought I had miscarried and had to wait 4 days for the scan but scan was fine and they said spotting is probably because of cyclogest and they could see a tiny hematoma. Spotting started again 1-2 weeks after don’t remember exactly how long after and I had spotting from week 8-16, had 2-3 scans in that period. I was very anxious but scans showed that baby was fine. Then saw consultant at week 16 who said spotting is very normal when you’re on Cyclogest but it doesn’t mention that in the leaflet under side effects. He started me on Aspirin and said the community midwife should of started that at week 12.
Aspirin dose was 150mg once a day.
After that had quite a few trips to the hospital with reduced/changed movement and gave birth by an emergency c/section at week 39+3

So don’t give up there’s hope ❤️ And please do update us 💐 All the best xx

@K2012 Thank you so much for sharing!! I'm also with ABC IVF/Create. Did you have a fresh or frozen transfer? I just have this awful feeling that the embaby hasn't made it to blastocyst stage, probably just being stupid and over thinking it. They said it was the best grade embryo at day 3, with 8 perfect cells and no fragmentation, why am I like this :D?? I really want to do a test but it's only been a week and it's a 3 day transfer so I think it's way too early.. xx

@Julietriplerainbow I was also with ABCivf.

I had a fresh transfer. It’s too early yet, I did a test 7 days after transfer and it was negative and then on day 10 and it was positive so maybe wait till 10 days after your transfer.

Are you taking Progesterone and Aspirin?

Julietriplerainbow · 28/07/2022 17:38

@K2012 I'm only taking progesterone 3 times a day, they didn't say anything about aspirin. Do you think I should? Was yours 3 day or 5 day transfer? xx
