Hi, my recurrent miscarriage dr has ordered me a hsg. I thought this was usually to check for blocked tubes but I was told it is to see if the shape of my tubes is normal. I have had numerous scans over the past year (6 miscarriages). I know my tubes are not blocked as i am getting pregnant but if they are misshapen would a normal transvaginal scan would pick that up. Would a misshapen tube affect a pregnancy? I’m now seeing dr Shehata who specialises in reproductive immunology. He has told me not to bother with the hsg, he said he is confident there is nothing wrong with my uterus or tubes (I have a 4 year old). He told me
the procedure is painful and a waste of
time. I just wonder whether I should have it anyway on the off chance this is a thing. Has anyone been told similar?
