It's my first ever transfer tomorrow and I need TWW friends!

I'm 31, TTC 3.5 years. began IVF in April and needed a freeze all due to overresponding to IVF meds (PCOS). My numbers were:

72 Follicles
25 eggs
7 fertilised
1 day 5 blast in the freezer

I'm so excited but nervous, I've never had a positive test before and it all rests on this one embaby

I had mine on Friday so a few days ahead of you but I’m in the 2ww. My test date is the 19th but there’s no chance I can wait until then!
Transfer was fine, had a few aches and some stabbing pains yesterday so I’m hoping that was implantation but who knows. I’m spending my whole time symptom spotting. I know some of it could be the progesterone too.

Good luck, I hope it all goes well for you 🙂

ChristmasJumpers · 11/07/2022 15:38

@Nancy155 exciting!! Was this your first transfer? I think my test day will be 23rd and I 100% won't last but have promised DH no testing until at least 8dpt.

I already feel sick every evening since starting progesterone so I'll hopefully be able to take any symptoms with a pinch of salt but I'll more than likely become obsessed!!!

It’s our first one. I had IVF a few years ago with my son which worked first time.
Its so hard isn’t it, my clinic say 11 days after transfer but I’ve read lots of people getting bfp from 5 days after so it’s hard not to be tempted to test! I find it ok when I can at work as I am so busy it’s on my days off I know il want to test.

how are you feeling about it all? I was weirdly excited! X

ChristmasJumpers · 11/07/2022 19:59

I am really excited but nervous with us only having 1 untested blastocyst. It's taken so long to get here I'm just happy more than anything.

I think I may go a bit mad wondering if I could have had my positive by day 5/6 but I'll be worse if I get a negative that early and still think it could turn to a positive

I'm a couple weeks behind you but wanted to join just to see how it goes - I think my transfer will be in 2 to 2.5 weeks. Hope you don't mind! I find this process really isolating as nobody in my real life is going through similar. They're all pregnant of course.

Was your transfer awkward? Hopefully not painful? I found the actual IVF and retrieval rather brutal because despite being on the lowest possible dose for all the hormones I responded overly well.

I had:
45 eggs retrieved.
30 eggs mature.
24 fertilized.
23 embryos frozen - every single one being BB quality which I find bizarre.
We did PGT-A testing on the best 8 of them, 2 were good, 2 were bad, 1 couldn't be tested for some reason and 3 were mosaic.

Does the progesterone make you sick? I've heard it mimics morning sickness which I'm not looking forward to.

Nancy155 · 11/07/2022 20:45

Ooohhh that’s amazing, at least you have a good few for the freezer.

I found the transfer very easy and straightforward. The whole took about 15 minutes. It was a little uncomfortable at first but not painful at all. I had a few cramps and pains in the days following and that’s it.

I did a completely natural cycle which I found much better as the only drugs I have are the progesterone. It’s made me abit bloated and slightly nausea but nothing too hideous x

ChristmasJumpers · 11/07/2022 22:44

@Rtmhwales welcome, the more the merrier! I'm on progesterone injections and suppositories and I have been feeling sick at bedtime and quite tired much of the time. I'm also bloated, all fun stuff! Haha
That's such an amazing result, so many embryos 🥰 I imagine you felt rough after EC, I was really quite ill after mine and couldn't even lift myself off the sofa/bed for 3 days. I'm nreally hoping not to have to go through it again if I can help it

@Nancy155 that's reassuring, this will be the first part that DH has been able to be in the clinic for. I really hope they give us a scan picture of the embryo in place

How did the transfer go today?

Nancy155 · 12/07/2022 17:42

Hope it went ok today xx

ChristmasJumpers · 13/07/2022 13:46

Thank you both of you 😊

It went very smoothly. I took "comfortably full" bladder to the extreme so was absolutely desperate to go afterwards haha

We got to watch the embryo going in but didn't get a print out of the embryo like I've seen lots do. They just said to take our own picture of the screen...

I've had a few twinges today including a big one just now as I stood up which has freaked me out a bit!!

ChristmasJumpers · 13/07/2022 13:49

@Nancy155 how are you feeling? Any symptoms at all?

OP posts:
Nancy155 · 13/07/2022 14:17

Glad it all went well. Hopefully all the twinges are a good sign.

well I tested this morning and got a bfp! It’s faint but definitely there, no squinting needed!! can’t quite believe it so I’m going to test again tommorow to make sure!!!

ChristmasJumpers · 13/07/2022 14:31

@Nancy155 oh my god!! Congratulations 😁😁 is that at 5dpt?

OP posts:
Nancy155 · 13/07/2022 15:01

I know! I couldn’t believe it myself. I’ve read so many posts of people getting bfp at 5dp5dt but didn’t it would actually happen! Will let you know tommorow!

Nancy155 · 14/07/2022 20:35

How are you doing? Hope your managing to keep busy x

ChristmasJumpers · 14/07/2022 22:03

@Nancy155 I can't lie, I'm struggling. I do an office job from home and have been finding it so hard to concentrate!!!

Have you tested again today?

OP posts:
Nancy155 · 15/07/2022 06:27

I can imagine, I was much better on the days when I went out to work. Days at home are long and the temptation to test is too much.

yes tested at 5dp, 6dp and 7dp and they are all positive. Getting stronger each day too. Still early days so whilst I’m SO excited I’m trying to hold it in abit and be cautious.

hope you have some nice weekend plans to keep you busy x

ChristmasJumpers · 15/07/2022 07:49

@Nancy155 so so happy for you 🥰 finger crossed those line just keep getting stronger 🤞🤞🤞

I did my first test this morning. BFN but it was a supermarket test and it's only 4dp5dt. I couldn't help myself!
Waiting on some mommed tests from amazon. I didn't realise how expensive first response was 😳

Katerina79 · 16/07/2022 19:58

On day 2 of frozen transfer - just scrolling to see people's updates 🤞🤞

Nancy155 · 16/07/2022 20:02

i tested on the afternoon of the 4dp5dt and it’s was bfn. The best most sensitive tests to use are the first Response ones.

how did it go katerina79? Hope your doing ok.

All good here, currently 8dp5dt and another strong positive. It’s gotten darker each day so I’m hoping that’s a postive sign. I feel terrible too and certain foods are making me feel so sick. Not sure if it’s the hcg hormones or the progesterone.

Nancy155 · 16/07/2022 20:03

Sorry just saw you said about the expense of first response ones! I know, it’s a pricey buisness isnt it!

Katerina79 · 16/07/2022 20:08

So far so good - even got a week off work to chill - I am quite good at doing nothing so hoping for positive result at end of next week 🤗
This is my first posting on mums net

Nancy155 · 16/07/2022 20:12

That’s good, make the most of the chill time. I’m terrible at not being busy and just ended up spending hours on Google so I’ve just been doing what I’d normally do, bar lifting heavy things and that sort of thing.

how many did they transfer? When is your test date?

Katerina79 · 16/07/2022 20:16

1 transfered - 2 remaining in freezer - I haven't been advised my actual test date yet I Need to call clinic on Monday am I suppose to get booked in ( as it only happened yesterday pm )
