Oestrogen Priming - When to Start?

Just wondered whether anyone else has tried oestrogen priming? If so, when did you start the oestrogen tablets? I’m reading Day 21 which is tomorrow for me but I only just ovulated yesterday, so I’m wondering whether I should leave it a bit longer.

My clinic don’t often use this protocol and don’t seem very knowledgeable about it, although they’ve agreed to let me try it on request.

Hmm, not ideal that your clinic has suggested it but doesnt know when to tell you to start!! So when I did it, it was 7 days after my peak lh - so I was supposed to be testing for ovulation and then when I detect the lh surge I would then wait 7 days and start taking them on that day to the first day of my period.

It sounds like they're saying the same sort of thing, but they're assuming you're ovulating bang on the middle of a typical 28 day cycle... which would mean ovulation day 14, start priming day 21 but your cycle is diff so doesn't work like that.

Based on what I was told, you should be waiting another 5 days...

Thanks so much for replying. In fairness I was the one suggested it and the clinic agreed, rather than the idea coming from them.

I ended up starting on day 21 along with my downreg drugs, even though I didn’t ovulate until day 18. Fingers crossed that wasn’t a terrible thing to do…
