Im on my first IVF cycle having ICSI. I’ve just started Lubion injections this morning. We were given a different needle (one with a plastic needle protector) so we watched a video last night as per our normal routine when we start any new injection.
We have never used this style before. This morning we tried to put the needle on the syringe and it was as if it didn’t fit. We just couldn’t attach this new needle to the syringe.
My OH then pushed the plastic protector over the needle and it definitely wouldn’t screw on? Is this why? He is saying it wouldn’t fit on to the syringe before the protector was up but I’m thinking this is potentially why?
We have never been shown how to use the needles with the protector on before and I’m guessing we’re doing something simple incorrectly.
We ended up using spare needles without the protectors we had leftover from administering Meriofert but we have a limited number so really need to learn.
Can anyone give any advice or tips? I don’t want to call my clinic today as I have work and its awkward as I have meetings etc.
