Hi - I've just had a failed FET with a PGS tested embryo at CRGH. Ive spent an absolute fortune with them in the last year or so - 3 collections and PGS, so I'm feeling very deflated at the minute. I have 2 BB grade embryos frozen, but I'm starting to think about other options. The staff at CRGH I have found to be great but I haven't even met Mr Serhal in person, and I'm reluctant to spend any more there to be honest.

So now, I'm going to give myself the summer to heal and give my body a break, but am seriously considering going abroad. I've been recommended by a few people (both with successful outcomes) to look at Serum in Athens. Ive researched it quite extensively and read lots of very positive reviews, but just wondered if anyone on here has any experience with them?

Sidenote - I'm 42 in September.

Thanks in advance!

Hello there!

I have a couple of acquaintances that went to Serum and they both got successful pregnancies.

I went there this year and they are lovely however I would only recommend them if your fertility issues come from your side rather than the male side. We are not going ahead there in the end due to that reason. We’re actually going to start treatment at CRGH.

The process/communication at Serum is really well designed, they are very responsive. You will video call and then see your doctor in person once you are there.

Something else to take into account is that there aren’t any hotels close to the clinic (closest ones are 20-30 min walk) however Athens is mostly flat and such a beautiful place to visit! We stayed a Hotel Coco Mat Nafsika which was very comfortable and super peaceful with lots of plants, a garden and really nice staff.

I wish you the very best of luck xx

@MGH40

Hi. I’m sorry that your cycle was not successful. I have a friend who had success at serum at the age of 43 nearly 44. I’m with CRGH as preparing for a frozen transfer. I know this is not a recent post but what protocol did you have for FET? Was it medicated or natural/modified FET?

I am speaking with serum and considering treatment with them asap. So any further experience would be great to hear. I haven’t been TTC for v long but just turned 44. My initial consultation was good, liked the fact they wanted to do whatever they could to optimise egg quality and sperm quality before even starting the IVF. But haven’t had IvF in the uk (or before at all) so buy nervous about going abroad.
