Lister consultant recommendations?

Hi all,

I was considering the Lister last year and had a consultant in mind (Alison Taylor) who I was dead set on but then she retired. I briefly changed over to another one before our NHS funding was approved who I didn’t get to know properly and wasn’t sure about.

We’re working through those NHS embryos now, and I think if we don’t have success we’ll be back to looking at the Lister for private treatment in the autumn and I’m considering whether to request a different consultant again if we get there.

If you had treatment there, who was your consultant and would you recommend them? Did they upsell? If they did, did you think it was worthwhile?

TIA!

Wishing you all the best and hope your little embryos work! Interested in the
is thread as all consultants sound incredible at Lister!

I’ve been at Lister a LONG time (although have had a baby with them so am not complaining). Honestly, all their consultants are good. They also all work closely together. In general as a clinic they are very transparent price-wise and don’t push add-ons. This has certainly been my experience.

Have you looked at the bios on their website to see who sounds like the best fit for your situation?

@TwinkleInMyEye123 fantastic that you had a baby with them!

Did you see various consultants along the way?

The reason I ask is because the one we had firmly recommended IMSI (which is obviously extra on top of ICSI) and I wasn’t convinced we needed it. I guess our first nhs round will determine whether it’s worth trying it. We got four good embryos this round despite my husband’s sperm motility issues.

@KSW87 thanks! Are you shopping around for a clinic at the mo?

@thislittlebird I think I’ve seen most of their consultants at some point by now.

IME they are mostly very good about accommodating your preferences as far as possible.

Just to update you. I went to Portland and met Dr Salim. He was lovely, reassuring and efficient. We had all our tests done there and then and a follow up is booked in for Thursday. Long road ahead but so far so good! Xx

I am with Hames N at Chelsea but this round failed. I am 40 and we have male factor. We have a follow up soon.

Hi @KSW87 how are you getting on with Dr Saim? I am potentially going to start there also but not sure whether to start through NHS first

How did you get on with Dr Salim and Lister Portland in general?
