Hi,

Can anyone provide any help or advice on low sperm count/ motility please?

I've attached a photo of my partners semen analysis results - the top 2 were NHS tests and the results since are all from home using Exseed. I don't understand why they are jumping around so much (although TMSC and progressive motility remains really really low!!)

Has anyone ever experienced results like this? Did anything help or is the only option IVF? We are going to see Dr Ramsay in 2 week but would really appreciate any support or words of wisdom re anything that helped?

It's worth noting my partner had high FSH levels in his last blood tests in April (he's only had one set of bloods so will be repeating in the next few weeks) - so obviously we need to see what the route cause of that is!

I feel so deflated and wasn't ready for this. The NHS so far sadly don't want to do much more than we've already done and having spoken to them once they are already talking about referring for IVF/ICSI - but I am overweight so would need to lose 3 stone to even be eligible for referral! I'd just hoped there was more we could do first, hence going to see Dr R.

Thanks in advance x

Hi @HayMay. We saw Mr R in the past, I think that’s a good idea. Not sure what those other results are but I would trust the nhs ones and he’ll run another one on your DH which will give him an idea of where your partner is at. He’ll run hormone tests on him too based on what you’ve said and then go from there with a plan.

I guess just make sure your partner has a good lifestyle or is aiming to improve it, and get him on proxeed or impryl. Impryl did seem to help my DH’s results a little but we still needed ICSI because he doesn’t have enough healthy and motile sperm.

hopefully the appointment will give you a better idea of what’s going on!

Hi both - I was just wondering how you were getting on as we are in a similar situation. Keep going through waves of feeling positive and then feeling down about it all!
