Gonapeptyl down ref

For my last FET I had gonapeptyl on 7th April to down regulate. Unfortunately my fet had to be cancelled due to thin lining. I've had several cycles cancelled due to thin lining before, and usually my period would take over 50 days to come (as if the last day of oestrogen took me back to cycle day 1). This time I took progesterone for 10 days (advised by doctor) to induce a period. I thought this would reset my cycle and I have Been doing ovulation tests l, but they are all very negative. I think I am still in a state of menopause - night sweats, disrupted sleep and very dry down below and sex just doesn't appeal.

It's now 10 weeks since the injection and I've been told it can take 6-12 weeks to come back. Has anyone else been in this situation? Il so fed up of waiting. How long did it take for your period to come back?

Hi @Pinkstars2501

No idea if you're still active on these boards. I fell upon some old posts of yours about gonapeptyl delaying your period. For some reason it wouldn't let me create a reply on those threads so thought it's worth seeing if it will allow me to message you this way.

I'm in a similar situation with the gonapeptyl and just wondered how long it took for your cycle to settle. I had it on 7th April, had my period as normal, started FET meds but the transfer was cancelled. I then took progesterone to induce a withdrawal bleed but my period hasn't arrived since. It's 11 weeks since the gonapeptyl. Clinic told me it should be out of my system by now!! But no sign of my period!

I'm actually with the Shrewsbury and mid wales clinic too! I noticed on a previous post that you had used them.

Hi, my periods have been all over the place ever since if I’m honest. But I do have endometriosis and adenomyosis, so I’m putting it down as my “normal” now.

Sorry I know that’s not much help really. Most people I’ve spoken to, it eventually settles but not necessarily the same as before.

@Pinkstars2501 thank you so much for replying. I wasn't sure if you'd still be active on here!! I feel so cross with the clinic now as it's just delayed my next transfer. Everything I've read online says periods should return 7-12 weeks and im now past 11weeks so I hope it turns up next week! I've got a feeling it will be longer though!

@BewilderedBee I hope things turned out ok? Did you get your period? Xx

Just bumping this post to see if there are any answers?? I’m in the same situation and wondering how long it took for periods to return?

my injection was 16/08, I had a chemical from a FET early October so I’m hoping for a period within a couple of weeks but there’s absolutely no sign my ovaries are switched on!
