Has anyone else experienced extreme variations in your antral follicle counts? What does your RE say? A little background:
IVF #1: 12 follicles, 8 eggs, 6 fert, 0 blasts
IVF #2: 11 follicles, 7 eggs, 7 fert, 3 blasts - 1 genetically normal, didn’t survive thaw
IVF #3: 4 follicles, 4 fert, 0 blasts
IVF #4: 11 follicles, 10 retrieved, 6 mature, 5 fert, 0 blasts
IVF 4 was August 2021 and since then I made major lifestyle changes: cut out all gluten, dairy, soy, sugar, red meat, coffee, gmo's....basically eat all veggies and fish/chicken. Taking alllllllll the supplements.
February 2022 Laproscopic Endo Surgery w/ Appendix Removal: Stage 2-3 Endo found with 14 different points of removal.
May 2022 meet with my new RE 2 weeks before cycle start (ie I was about to ovulate) and had 15 follicles!!!! The most I've had since 2020 when a pre-cycle scan showed 18. Fast forward two weeks to start date and I suddenly have 4 antral follicles - we decide to postpone. Waited a month, and this morning again had a much lower number of 6 follicles, decided to postpone again and check follicle count in two weeks after ovulation.
I just don't get why there is so much variation. My doctor just says that it's more than normal but that it's not anything I'm doing. I am really hoping that I've improved my egg quality between my lifestyle changes and my brutal Lap surgery (my recovery was really bad), but given our drop off rates in past cycles it doesn't make sense to start during a low count month. Anyone been through this??
