Anyone else on TWW around week of 14/06/22

Anyone else just started the two week wait as well?

I had a fairly disastrous FET this afternoon (it’s really, really hot where I live and the whole thing ended up being a big mess!)

Am now trying to achieve a zen-like calm about the whole thing. Or, you know, not.

Would be nice to have some company over here!

Yes, I have got one in two weeks to check that everything is where it should be. They don’t do more than one beta as perfect numbers still don’t rule anything out. Exactly 6 weeks would probably be way too early to know heartbeat etc. I’d love it if it were possible as I’ve never got to hear one.

Such a long way to go, the important thing will be to just live day to day.

What about you?

My OTD is tomorrow so I will call the clinic in the morning to book a scan. From what they've said before it's probably going to be in 3 weeks time. And I think they only do a blood test in case of a negative result.

I am also trying to take it one day at a time.

Choose2bgr8ful · 24/06/2022 19:54

Congratulations @Iliada and @Azahar8 🎉🎉

Azahar8 · 24/06/2022 21:33

@Choose2bgr8ful Thanks! Was your second blood test reassuring?

Choose2bgr8ful · 24/06/2022 21:53

@Azahar8 yes it was thanks, hcg had doubled as expected. My scan is in 2 weeks, can't wait. It still feels very unreal. Do you have any new symptoms yet?

Azahar8 · 24/06/2022 22:07

@Choose2bgr8ful That's great, really happy for you! I had cramps and backache over the last two days but they come and go. I also have a headache today but this is probably because I didn't sleep well. I was so nervous about testing that I woke up at 4 am. Do you have any symptoms?

Choose2bgr8ful · 25/06/2022 09:49

@Azahar8 funnily enough I've woken up with backache this morning. I'm still getting very tired by mid afternoon and I'm thirsty all the time, can't seem to drink enough water but that could be effects of progesterone (?). It's interesting how differently our bodies react to the hormones.

Azahar8 · 25/06/2022 10:46

@Choose2bgr8ful I'm also thirsty all the time but this is not so untypical for me. As to the tiredness - I attribute it to the lack of coffee 😁

Tryingat47 · 25/06/2022 21:27

@Choose2bgr8ful I am thirsty as well. On one day I was so parched I could not speak properly. It got better but then today again I am drinking water and can’t have enough. Is this really progesterone?

Azahar8 · 26/06/2022 12:52

@Tryingat47 Apparently both estrogen and progesterone can cause thirst. When are you testing?

Tryingat47 · 26/06/2022 14:30

@Azahar8 blood test tomorrow morning

Azahar8 · 26/06/2022 16:06

@Tryingat47 Good luck!!

Tryingat47 · 27/06/2022 18:18

A little update, the nurse just called and it’s POSITIVE!!! Everything feels quite unreal! Thanks so much everyone for the messages of support! They really helped me pull through the long 2WW!!!😘

She said the hHG is 700 does anyone know what this means? It’s high, right? Could it an indication of a multiple pregnancy?

Azahar8 · 27/06/2022 19:23

@Tryingat47 Congratulations!! 🎉Really happy for you!

I don't know about hcg levels, my clinic doesn't check them.

Tryingat47 · 28/06/2022 08:16

Thank you!

Iliada · 28/06/2022 10:15

@Tryingat47 That’s so wonderful! Congratulations!

The average HCG level will be different depending on which day they tested on. Because it often doubles every 48-72 hours, if someone tests on day 10 post transfer the average level will be totally different from if they test on day 14. Different clinics test on different days. Also, it varies wildly from woman to woman and also sometimes in the same person between different pregnancies.

As far as I know, a high level of HCG can be a sign of multiples, but many people with multiples don’t ever see a surprisingly high level until later or never, depending on when/if they get their levels checked and how often.

I did mean to mention that the other day I read a medical study that said a level of HCG over 300 on day 14 is a really good sign.

Like everything in pregnancy, it all means something until it does or doesn’t. Relax and enjoy being pregnant today.

@Iliada thanks so much! I guess what norm is for one person is different for another.
