Feeling very low gone for my day 5 scan all looking well 3 days earlier good number of follicles but today 3 days on stims one follicle has raced ahead and doc has said the others will not likely catch up so facing a cancelled cycle again after last cycle cancelled due to cyst! I'm on a 3 package mild ivf freeze all done 1 cycle so fat with 1 embryo in freezer! Doc mentioned either moving to natural modified or DE which I'm not ready for just yet ! I'm 41 and at mo I'm just sat crying isn't thoughts or advice ??

I changed to natural modified and had twins 😉

Hi @Pinklady81 , I am wondering if natural modified make differences? I am on natural modified and my ivf cycle canclled twice, first was cyst, this time was due to lower estrogen, I don't know what going to do? hope someone can tell me how to improve estrogen level in a good way? Dr can't tell me anything , a bit frustrating, but I think you could ask your doctor why natural modify can help you and what make differences?

@Pinklady81

I'm doing IVF as well. Can you do full IVF cycles instead of the mild ones?

I changed clinics and on the private one they doubled the dose of stim injections as well as trigger and got more embryos.

Good luck!

Pinklady81 · 09/06/2022 12:41

@Cherry35 I've doubled up this time and didn't respond as well !!

@Pinklady81

Have you tried primers? It's when they give you hormones in the cycle prior. It works for some women, for me it didn't but it may be worth the try. I've tried estrogens and testosterone. Well, technically I had 1 more egg but less quality but I have PCOS as well.

I've had pretty bad cycles but I'm taking a break and trying chinese herbs for egg quality.

Pinklady81 · 10/06/2022 08:28

I've only had one full cycle embryo banking last 2 cancelled on day 5 I've severe endo the doc I spoke to this week seems quite dismissive and kept saying donor eggs so I'm really low and unsure xx

@Pinklady81

Before going with donor eggs I'd definitely try another clinic, some have better labs or so and may make a difference. Try taking break full of supplements and diet. I'm also trying chinese medicines to see if it helps but will know until my next IVF cycle.

Don't give up for the recommendations of only 1 FS, unfortunately there are some that are not as good and shouldn't be giving that type od advice.

For me, in my mind I'd try 3 clinics before going with donor eggs, with the last being a very prestigious/better lab type of clinic.

Pinklady81 · 10/06/2022 11:05

@Cherry35 thank you what does 1 FS mean? One doc said to down reg after all my egg collections one said there is no research to prove it helps due to my endometriosis . I just seem to get conflicting advice every time I see someone. I have no more money available to try any other clinics unfortunately…..

@Pinklady81

FS means Fertility Specialist. They are the ones you have to see for IVF. I'm in Australia. Maybe research different type of doctors, e.g. first we went to cheapest and said donor eggs, second mid price range got pregnant twice but had MC, will do one more cycle with them but already booked with a high price clinic and apparently have the best lab and success rates across the country. Will try one more time in the mid-price one due to cost.

Perhaps you would benefit from a different view with a FS specialised in endometriosis. Are you having laps to remove the endo once in awhile?

Here you can take money from the pension to do IVF, maybe there's something similar there?

Cherry35 · 11/06/2022 06:00

@Pinklady81 I saw somewhere that a low carb diet helps endometriosis but not sure how true it is.

I'm already doing it for PCOS.

Pinklady81 · 11/06/2022 07:56

@Cherry35 thanks for the advice but as I'm paying private I can't afford to keep swapping clinics . I have had excision surgery last year but it can grow back quickly

@Pinklady81

Perhaps seeing another specialist in the same clinic would help, as in getting another perspective.

Best wishes on your journey.

You need to get the endo sorted first.

Get sperm DNA fragmentation on your partner's sperm - I know this isn't the issue but it's one thing to think ahead about.

Then go for the natural modified.
ICSI whether you need it or not
Assited Hatching whether you need it or not.

Don't wait for each cycle to work out what extra is needed.
Cover all bases at once even if you don't think you need it.

Which clinic are you with?

I'm nearly 43.
High AMH of 21 for my age.
Decent AFC.
I still think Mild IVF was not right for me it's for young women.
I think standard IVF is for young women.
Older women like us need to stay as natural as possible so if I can advise anyone then it's go for natural modified.

Hello I know this is an old message, but I was just wondering how you got on. I am in a similar situation and need encouragement. I have had 3 back to back cancelled cycles due to low oestrogen. I am also on 3 package cycle doing the natural modified. What fertility clinic were you with? I’m currently with create at Wimbledon and wondering if I should switch.

Pinklady81 · 25/03/2023 10:07

Hello@Chris112 I've just done another cycle last week and walked away with nothing ! I've emailed my clinic as I'm so disheartened and want some answers how are you getting on?

@Chris112 Hello there, I am looking at Create Wimbledon for natural modified and was wondering what your experience was like please? Sorry I see this is an old thread but desperately looking for advice. Thanks!
