When to expect period after failed IVF

I had a fresh transfer last Sunday so currently 7dp5dt. I did a test this morning and it was negative. I also feel like my period is close to starting.

This is my first IVF cycle - typically when does your period start and is it heavier etc than usual? My periods are normally very regular but I thought this one might be later due to all the hormones I’m on.

Mine always arrived 14-16 days after Egg collection, so generally right around the official test day. It was either spotting or a light bleed but then, after BFN and after stopping the pessaries, my usual period would kick in. It was never any heavier than usual but I had heavy periods anyway so maybe I wouldn’t really notice.

Have hope, there is still the chance of a BFP. Wishing you lots of luck

Can I ask, when did you stop taking the drugs? Did you stop taking them on official test day or did you wait for your period to start?

My official test day is Tues and not even a faint line on a FRER today so have given up hope.

About 3 days after I stopped the progesterone.

@Bryterlayter1 did you stop taking the progesterone after a negative on official test day?

@AdviceForJane I stopped on the official test day when clinic advised to stop.
