Sitagliptin

Hi all

My previous fertility doctor prescribed me Sitagliptin. I stopped my 8 week dose last week.

I'm with an IVF clinic and due to start egg retrieval meds next week and see Sitagliptin in my meds.

I'm not sure whether to take another month of Sitagliptin.

Thanks

I've had sitagliptin, I thought the dose is 3 months. I was prescribed it by Professor Brosens from the Coventry implantation clinic. He said its fine to do alongside ivf or ttc naturally. Just stop by transfer if ivf / bfp in a naturally cycle.

Good luck

Thanks. I'll talk to my clinic.

Did it help on your journey?

I'm in my first cycle ttc after trying it, finished the dise around 2 weeks ago, so not sure (in my tww), but I have heard of a few people it has worked for 🤞

I'm interested to hear more about this drug. Have you been prescribed this via Tommy's or just consultant been prepared to give it a try?

VenusStarr · 09/01/2023 22:17

I finished my course in May and then proceeded to have 2 FET cycles cancelled as I no longer responded to synthetic estrogen. We looked at a natural cycle in between and my natural lining was poor too. Eventually managed to get to 7.8mm on low dose stims in October but the transfer failed. No embryos left.

Tommy's prescribed it for me but weren't interested in helping me understand if it was related to the sitagliptin. We wasted 9 months last year after taking this 😪 on a complete break now and not sure if we'll try again. I had so much hope but it's gone now.

I'm so sorry to hear that @VenusStarr. I understand and can relate to how you feel. We did a lot of immune therapy last year, but we are no further ahead. I've had two miscarriages now and a suspected ectopic. So fed up of it all. Really want to try this drug though just in case it helps. Are you on Instagram? I've seen several messages on these boards from you and it sounds like you have tried a lot of what I have tried. I don't post much on here anymore but I do have an insta account that I'm much more active on.

I'm sorry to hear that @BewilderedBee ❤️ we've just discovered that my dh has ureaplasma so I'm being tested next. Just feels like we keep uncovering more stuff! 😒 I am on Instagram but not with a fertility profile, I just do it all on my personal account. I'm on a break from it at the moment though as I follow a lot of fertility accounts and it's a bit much. I'll send you my profile though x

@BewilderedBee tag didn't work

@Conundrum12345 Do you mind me asking how you got on after taking your Sitagliptin? I have a feeling I will be prescribed it next week but concerned after Venus Starrs experience. I can't find anyone else who's reported negative outcomes. Xxx

Hi, I know this is an old thread but I wondered how you got on after trying sitagliptin? I’m waiting for my prescription following my biopsy results and consultation with Prof Brosens. Did you continue to try whilst on it? Hoping you saw some success from it 🙏🏽

Hi,

I'm currently cradling my 2 week old so it didn't do any harm :)
