Hi there,

I was planning to do an initial consultation with Reprofit clinic. Has anyone recently had any experience with the clinic? Any inputs/reviews are appreciated. IVF clinics in UK are very expensive and hence we are looking to get IVF done outside UK. What is the total cost of treatment (including flights/hotels etc.
Many thanks

I went in 2019 to do a donor egg cycle. Personally I had an awful time, they gave me my money back as there were no good quality embryos. They didn't wash their hands before scanning me, the waits to be seen were long. It was horrible.
But. A lot of women love it there and had good outcomes. It's impossible to know.

Thank you! I did read about some of the negative reviews. It's so confusing to be honest.

@SS2022 sorry I’m posting so late I’ve only just seen this. I’m a Reprofit patient and have been with them for two years. I did my own egg twice (2020 and 2021) and I got pregnant each time, but sadly miscarried. We did Donor egg this year and had a better experience my baby is due next month. In regard to the clinic; they’re really good and in my experience I didn’t notice any issues with their hygiene; quite the opposite so I would recommend them if you are still considering them?
Best of luck

SS2022 · 31/10/2022 12:41

Thank you so much and congratulations:)
Did they investigate why the miscarriage happened? I have been there for egg retrieval and that was a good experience but I don’t know how they are with investigating issues

Hi @SS2022

I’m pleased you decided to give them a go.
With the miscarriages I did do immunology testing (a range of blood tests) over there and it was really helpful. It was a lot cheaper there too! As you know English isn’t their first language, so it took a while to get our heads round the information, but before I did my donor transfer those tests did identify several blood conditions that I had, as well as elevated NK cells. It was a game changer as they adapted my medical protocol the third time round and I think that’s why we’re now successful.

I did do a lot of reading up on anything additional I could do (so I didn’t rely solely on Reprofit after I got pregnant) and once I was signed up with my midwife and obstretician consulted with them on stopping my meds etc. but so far it has all worked out well. They are a good clinic.

SS2022 · 31/10/2022 13:38

Thank you so much. This is really helpful and it has put my mind to rest that they are good with investigations. Who was your doctor there?

also, what tests do you suggest that I should go through before implantation. I am 41 and in my first cycle I could just get 8 egg retrieved out of which only 2 embryo were considered for genetic screening. Only one qualified so I have been called again for another round of retrieval.

Hi @SS2022

Mine was Dr Hana, she was the one who suggested Immunology Panel testing. I did the basic panel for Sterility which I recommend (have a look on the website or ask your coordinator as the prices may have changed?) It was something like €366 euros. I’d definitely recommend that and maybe Sperm DNA fragmentation testing (a more in depth check on your hubby’s side just in case there is anything going on there?)

But please do check with them that this is correct for you because we sound like we have opposite cases… at 41 I got 8 embryos One I transferred fresh (miscarriage), another I tested (viable but second miscarriage) then the rest tested and we’re all non viable 🙁
so we moved to donor eggs where I’ve now had success.

If that’s a consideration think about that as a possible option?

Best of luck to you

Sorry @SS2022 realised I made an error there we got 9 (not 8) own egg embryos but 7 had to be discarded following testing.
Thats the sad fact quality does decline with age 😞

SS2022 · 31/10/2022 18:27

Thanks for the info. Really appreciate this.
I will check with them about the options you suggested.

thank you again and I wish all the best to you :)
take care!

I'm just coming across these messages because I have a few questions I'd love some help with. We are going to reprofit hopefully within the next few months after failed attempts in UK, after quite a few emails back and forth I've got an idea of how it works, they said however I need to be scanned here day 7 and 10 and then depending on that retrieval will be over there between day 12 and 15. Flights and accommodation therefore can't really be booked in advance as it's all very day specific but makes me incredibly nervous the thought Of trying to get that sorted very last min or has anyone flew out early, took the meds over and got scanned at clinic? Thanks x

Hi @Vickers10 are you on Facebook at all?
If you are there’s a really helpful Group called Reprofit Brno International Support Forum where you can ask any further questions and share concerns regarding this and other things?
For me personally I know it is a nerve wracking thought; but we did wait until after our Day 10 scan, sent the results to Reprofit and then they gave us a specific Retrieval date (which is the go ahead- keep in mind if there are any issue with your scan re. follicles/eggs/womb lining they can push the date back and then if you’ve already booked flights and hotels you might have to cancel them) and at that point of our Day 10 scan we did then book our flights and accommodation. For some people it does concern them and they book much more in advance (irrespective of not having a specific retrieval date) and they then make a mini holiday of it; but we didn’t have that luxury as we were travelling in the first spell of Covid times!!
Even with that we still got a flight in plenty of time (try RyanAir) and there are loads of good hotels there too, so I wouldn’t worry (I recommend the Barcelo hotel).

In terms of meds it is possible to time it so you take your last meds either the day before travelling or just before. I remember taking my last Cetrotide shot late at night; a few hours after we’d arrived in Brno and with my retrieval the next day all was fine. My husband was with me and supported me with such things, so if you get organised it is possible.

This is my experience but others might advise you to do otherwise. I would suggest joining the Facebook group to get others thoughts on this; it’s a private group so no one will see your posts on there.

Hope this helps!

Persephone12 sorry I'm only seeing this now, thank you so much for taking the time to reply! I do feel better after reading this, I did think the only option was really booking all after day 10 scan but just made me feel abit anxious I suppose not having everything planned out exactly in advance but I'm sure when time comes all will be straight forward enough, think at the beginning you nearly over think it too 😀 I don't personally have Facebook but my partner does so will def check that out. Thank again so much xx

@Vickers10 you’re welcome and with the flights; (when we were travelling it was 2 years back) I know since the Covid period costs of what used to be cheap flights can be much higher so perhaps consider booking beforehand and making a mini holiday of it if you can?
Practically everything you need help with from ‘will they explain things at the clinic first?’ to ‘does the egg retrieval hurt?’ To ‘what hotel?’ Has been asked a dozen times on that Facebook page so once your husband has joined ask him to put a keyword search in the search button first then if you can’t find the answer he can post on there, either with his profile or even anonymously.
Best of luck to you. I have a beautiful 6 month old son from this clinic now so I can say with confidence you are in good hands. All the best! xxx

Vickers10 · 23/05/2023 23:11

@Persephone12 I honestly can't thank you enough for this! I did plan on asking if we could travel abit earlier and get scanned over there but wasn't sure if it would be an option. I got my partner to join group there so just waiting on approval 😃i love hearing all the wondering success stories from clinic, it gives me such positivity! After 10 cycles between iuis, ivf and icsi here this will be my last go and hopefully I can share my success with others too. Told coordinator I would be back in touch around August to get ball rolling so not too far away. You've been a star and I really appreciate it xx

I had a terrible cold and lonely experience with Reprofit, Brno, they showed an enormous lack of interest in my case and I just felt like a number.
I saw lots of positive reviews about them and I am really sorry for the day I read them thinking these people could help us.
They provided an impersonal service, miscommunication, language barriers.
A coordinator with zero medical knowledge was in charge of my IVF medication.
I was advice to undergo a very expensive test that I never needed.
The list is endless. They don't even provide international patients with mental support and there is no follow up after a negative result.
After transfer they show absolute disregard for patients, at least for me.
They wish you good luck and next please.

Sorry to read you had such a bad experience @Plke2020. The reason the clinic is a lot cheaper (than what you’d pay in the uk) is because there is no fertility mental health support service. You do just pay for IVF treatment and you have to be your own advocate with this clinic completely researching every possibility, and questioning everything including random tests they suggest- asking why it’s needed etc.
If they had not suggested the immunology test I had I might not have known I had NK cells a possible reason why I kept miscarrying and I might not have been on steroids to support my future pregnancy but I found out most of this by myself from reading books and researching.
i really do believe you get what you pay for at this clinic or at least this was the case 4 years back. Don’t rely on them to talk you through it, this is not a specialist private clinic in the UK with any trimmings. I’d just recommend all women join the Facebook group for all patients and get support and information that way.
We tried 3 times with this clinic and I have a beautiful 21 month old son now so I owe a lot to Reprofit, but you have to do the background work yourself. I know a lot of women who paid for private therapy and counselling sessions in the uk before undergoing IVF treatment (or during). It’s an extra cost but completely worth it as IVF is such a tough journey and we do need support around it.
