How to cope with painful progesterone injections?

I really want to pull my hair out!

I am currently on progesterone injections post egg transfer. These progesterone injections are hurting like nothing else. My stomach is pretty sore.

I use an ice pack before doing them but this only seems to help for injecting after that my stomach is just sore and painful.

Has anyone done anything different that helped?

I've been injecting Lubion daily for over 3 weeks and I can honestly say I barely feel the needle going in. What gauge needle are you using? And are you gathering belly fat with your other hand before injecting? Are you going in at 90 degrees and changing the injection site every day? It really shouldn't be painful at all, not even uncomfortable. I really feel for you x

Oh I've read again and your pain is afterwards? Are you expelling the air from the syringe before injecting? Are you injecting really slowly and massaging afterwards? Are you going in deep enough (full length of needle)?

@Scottishgirl85 yes to all of those. I'm doing it by the book. The pain seems to last for the whole night and then eases.

Oh no that's so strange. Perhaps ask your clinic for advice, you can't go on like that. Have you had blood tests to check absorption?

I use lentogest, which is progesterone in oil. I have to do it in my bum though. Could you ask if you could try there? It's definitely not a nice injection, but only had one (maybe hit 'something'?) that caused proper pain.
