When to start taking aspirin (FET)

Hello, I'm due to have my 3rd FET next month and this time have been told that it is my choice if I want to take a low dose of aspirin due to previous miscarriages.

They have not advised when I should start to take it. Do you have any recommendations, Google is a minefield! Some say when starting estrogen but others on the day of a positive pregnancy test.

Any advice welcome.

I was advised to take aspirin the same month of the transfer after the period had ended.

My ivf clinic have me take it until the day before transfer. However, my miscarriage specialist says to take it every evening, all the time. I have immune issues, so I guess that's why. My ivf clinic are happy for me to do the every evening thing.

@Seven201 do you now take it throughout your whole frozen embryo cycle, I will be starting estrogen this week so was going to start aspirin on the same day but do you think I should start now. I am currently on down regulation.

@Piippa yes I take it all the time, so throughout a FET. I don't know what you should do though, sorry. There's no straightforward answer online.

Found it. Just says "the CCRM also warns that vit E should not be used by people who are taking aspirin, because it adds to the anti clotting effects of aspirin". It doesn't sound like a big issue.

I started aspirin the night after embryo transfer and took every night thereafter and had 2 successfull FETs. Your consultant should be telling you though, I'd never self medicate during ivf.

@scottishgirl85 thanks for your advice. I would never self medicate and I was told it was my choice if I wished to add it into my treatment plan this time round.

Unfortunately, it was not communicated properly when I should start to take it but it has been clarified now.
