Ivf funding

Hi, just wondering if anyone has recently been approved for ivf funding on the NHS. I'm currently waiting for some forms to come from the hospital and wondered roughly what time scale it took someone recently with theirs. I asked in the hospital but they couldn't/wouldn't even give me a rough idea.

I had my initial consultation with my local NHS provided 4 days ago. The doctor said she would approve our application and recommend that the CCG approve us for funding. She said that we should receive a letter in 3-4 weeks to book in with the clinic of our choice. I have no idea how long it will take to get further than that I'm afraid

Yes I had NHS funding and it took about 4months between putting me on the IVF list with NHS and first IVF cycle. Good luck

Completely depends on your area, it would help to mention where you are. But I'm afraid ivf involves a lot of waiting! Good luck!

I was referred and the forms sent out after first appointment I think it depends on what area you live in and the reason for infertility.
I was referred after a serious of tests in April 2021 had my first appointment in Nov 21 but I had communication between this time .
I'm in Wales though and we only have 2 NHS IVF hospitals.

I was referred last week! We filled the paperwork in at the hospital at our last fertility appointment, they’re sorting it out from there. I was told we’d expect a call from fertility IVF clinic in about 2-3 weeks do it seems to be super fast!

Hello! I was wondering exactly the same... have the first video appointment in August and trying to understand how long it will be after... I assume it takes a while for CCG to approve the funding and to get told when treatments start?
I understand it depends but I do wish websites gave more information....

Hi, it took about 3 months for us to get from referral to consultation. Then maybe another month to 6 weeks to sign our lives away with consent forms. I received my protocol last week and have just started the first meds. So hopefully not much longer for you
