Any OHS people here?

Hi all,

Had my egg collection today - 20(!) retrieves, which I'm told is a great haul. However, I'm showing strong signs of OHS, so we are having to freeze our blastocysts when the time comes, and I'm on medication to lower my blood pressure and return my body to some sort of normality.

Still feeling quite bloated and tender. Anyone go through the same, and how long did it take for you to feel better? I'm not in pain at all, just a fair amount of discomfort.

Hi! I had 33 eggs retrieved and, like you, had to freeze all my resulting embryos due to OHSS. Mine was moderate. I felt very unwell but managed to avoid hospitalisation. It took me a couple of weeks to properly feel better. Hope you recover quickly and good luck with your cycle

Also, I thought I was ok and had gotten away with it a day or so after the egg collection itself. The OHSS didn’t properly kick in until maybe 3 days after EC. Take it easy.

Thanks for sharing your experience @TaVeryMuchLove - that is a LOT of eggs retrieved! I'm just glad it's the weekend so I can rest up and notice symptoms if/when they arise. Fingers crossed it'll stay a mild(ish) discomfort.

I drank a lot of sports drinks and that helped. Otherwise, it just takes time. But call your clinic/GP if you feel really unwell or are struggling with shortness of breath
