IVF FET and fluid

I'm 33, husband is 35, we've tried a few IUIs before moving to IVF. Retrieval is done and we have 5 frozen embryos. Scheduled for transfer in April and ended up being cancelled due to fluid. In a transfer cycle now with a new protocol and they just again found fluid in my uterine lining. If it doesn't correct itself I'm told our transfer will be cancelled again. Anyone experience this? Anyone get to the root cause of it or try a protocol that worked for getting to transfer?

Hello, i havent had cancellation from this reason, i actually have never heard of fluid around uterine lining but we have tried i think 3 cycles of IVF and twice in a row it got cancelled, once i had my period- they supposed to stop it with the medication, second time, i had a horrible bleeding in the middle of injections :) and the very first one has gone ahead but my body has overreacted and they had to give me extra medication etc. I think this IVF plays with your hormones a lot and if it cancels again maybe you can ask for a short break like a month or two. I had a long break after my horrible bleeding and my doctor at the end said, we should try natural way with the frozen embryos! And it worked! It may not be the case for you but i know the treatment itself is also stressful maybe you just need a very short time off. Good Luck! Wishing you all the best and sorry for the long post!

Thank you so much for your reply! I am considering whether we should do a natural cycle with a frozen embryo as well. I had fluid with the retrieval that resolved itself, at the time I was on stims of course. Then had fluid which they said was from the estrogen pills and patches I was on for transfer. This cycle is a modified natural, using stims to have my body create more estrogen to thicken the lining, but now seeing fluid. I have to think maybe meds are what's causing the fluid..

I've had a lot of fluid before post egg collection and before a FET - my IVF at the time was natural modified so taking tamoxifen tablets which are estrogen based. Normally progesterone suppositories help dry it up and it was successful in my case - I was on 3x per day from egg collection - have they given you progesterone to take?

Thank you for sharing! I will ask about the progesterone. I am supposed to start it with injections 5 days before the transfer. Maybe they'd add the suppositories or start it now.

I was on Progestrone from the egg collection too, i always had 2 per day if i remember correctly but always on progesteron. I hated having estrogen tablets, they never worked well for me. Now i am thinking not to have any hormones tablets even during menapouse :)
Speak to your doctor, they will advise the best.
Good luck!
