Create fertility

We have struggled for sometime now and my wife and I were passed over to Create Fertility. This was our 2nd attempt. From the very beginning and very first appointment something told me this place is wrong.

We have been given conflicting advice from staff, difficulties getting through to the clinic, we have to chase medication, lack of empathy and consultations with different staff each time. No continuity.

The worst of it is that whilst my wife went through a miscarriage on a Friday night, we tried to ring the emergency number and it would not go through. No connection. She was in severe pain, crying and I was a wreck too. No one was there to help us.

The next day we rang the clinic and were promised a call back, no one rang back and staff were also unable to give us a number for out of hours or emergencies.

We have been let down badly by create fertility. I know this is one couples experience and there may be positive ones out there. We have lost faith in Create now though. We have one embryo left and don't know what to do, stay with them or go elsewhere.

I just wanted to share this experience with some of you. Thanks.

We are starting our treatment now with Create Fertility and we are in shock, the lack of communication is appalling. We are not sure if the clinic is overall terrible or if we got unlucky with our patient coordinator...

Hi palmtree123
our problems started on the very first day and just continued from there on. If we could go back in time we wouldn’t have used them. Now we’re also stuck and don’t know what to do.

I think you just have to be really clear and start as you mean to go on with them.

Which Create branch are you with? My experience couldn't have been more different from what you describe? - in fact they saved my life when my hospital refused to see when I knew I was having another ectopic - create saw me within 15 mins of a panicked call to them and they called the ambulance. The nurses were in tears when I finally got my rainbow babies

I know they are a lot busier now so maybe the atmosphere and culture which made me stick with them through 5 rounds is no longer the same

We are in St. Pauls, in London, it may be our patient coordinator, but basically, we have delays of +6 months, we haven't been able to even start yet our treatment.

cantcomplainabouttheweather · 05/08/2022 17:40

@palmtree123
St. Paul's is very busy and the most corporate id say - I had a few scans and an egg collection there for various reasons instead of my usual one and I found it much more impersonal compared to my usual clinic

palmtree123 · 08/08/2022 10:40

Out of curiosity, which is your usual clinic? I appreciate they are busy, but losing our blood results and then taking more than 2 months to give the results once repeated (we are still waiting for them), plus, our coordinator not responding to our enquiry about the results for a month now seems a bit like bad customer service rather than "busy times". We do not normally complain to businesses but if we would start again we would definitely avoid Create.

@Ajay1978 sorry to hear about your experience. Overall I had a good experience, with helpful staff and my protocol was adapted each time. However, I was not impressed by the long wait when I would call the main number. I was at Wimbledon.
Wishing you all the best.

Hi,
I am 41 with low AMH 1.7 and recently had endometriosis (stage 1) surgery.
I had 1NHS cycle at CRGH last June that was cancelled due to low respond and NHS cancelled funding half way through…
I am now looking to have egg batching 3round with either CRGH or CREATE or Serum in Greece.
has anyone had similar choices between clinics?
Also both clinics have total opiate opinion on protocol
CRGH high dose stimulation but every other day + oestrogen priming+ growth hormone+ DHEA
CREATE says every other day wouldn’t work and lower dose every day and absolutely no DHEA no oestrogen priming no growth hormone and my consultant at create says those things can interfere with treatment and would make difference and waste of money.
but when I researched it, a lot of people had positive experience on DHEA and oestrogen priming- has anyone had experience either hood or bad?
I like CRGH being thorough and they are using many supporting medications but I don’t feel comfortable with every other day stimulation- has anyone had this protocol and did it work?
Also they have alot of add ons that makes the price easily doubling from original quotation.
I also like create, they are straightforward and very clear, comfortable with their protocol and the price is much more comfortable. But I feel I will regret if I don’t try oestrogen priming and DHEA…

Has anyone have any view on my situation and give some advice on it?
thank you

@Ssoom hiya I am with CrGH, 40 will be 41 in April. We did embryo batching with CRGH I am a poor responder, high FSH, low AMH, 3 Folicles on average and premature ovulation. We did the protocol you outlined, DHEA, oestrogen priming and mild stim (every other day) our first 2 cycles we got 1 embryo per cycle (3 and 2 eggs collected). We then had a run of unsuccessful cycles, either due to FSH too high to start stims, or stims started but folicles not growing. We took 3 months off and our consultant gave us alternative protocols to consider but advised it may not make any difference. We did a lot of research during the break, went on a few sunny holidays and decided to go to a more intense protocol but it meant would have to wait for a naturally low FSH. My FSH has been known to be 48 at its highest so we knew it may take a few months. In our 2nd month we were able to start and managed to get 2 embryos from that cycle. We were aiming for 4 in the freezer before transfer.

I only have experience of 2 cycle elsewhere with NHS that was high dose with downreg which is the opposite of what my body needed so as you can imagine nothing happened. 2nd cycle removed the downreg 1 folicle developed but they missed a bloodtest and then I ovulation before egg collection. They then took 8 months to contact me on next steps. We decided to go private during that time as couldn't leave it in their hands, it wasn't the best.

We did consider Create based on the multicycle package price but my experience during consultation put me off, they put ICSI in my proposed protocol which I didn't want and there was no logic that I needed it, I challenged it and they refused to remove it until I raised it for the 3rd time, but by then I was not comfortable with the service i had recieved, so that was the deciding factor for me not going with th.

I wish you all the best x

Thank you SPR40 for your reply. It really helps and it must been a tough journey for you. I remember the feeling in scan room and they just don’t give away much info and it could be frustrating.
I know what you mean about Create, I like the consultant she was very clear but very strongly suggest ICSI is the only way when CRGH said the opposite.
do you think DHEA and Oestrogen priming made difference for you?
Hope you are happy and in good place in terms of this journey.
Thank you and sending you hugs x
