Hi has anyone had an egg collection and they froze on day 3 I can’t have a fresh transfer due to ohss but a lot things I’ve read is they’ve been frozen at day 5

Depends I believe. My embryos were frozen on day 5 and some on 6 as blastocysts, but sometimes the embryologists freezes the embryos earlier, especially if you do not have many embryos. Perhaps your clinic will* *suggest defrosting the day 3 and seeing if it will grow to day 5 or transfer them after thaw? A day 3 embryo should be cleaving at this stage. A previous consultant I saw privately told me that he didn’t think day 3 embryos survived freezing and thawing very well, but you never know. Wishing you all the luck with your IVF treatment - I vividly remember how stressful it all was (4 rounds, 2 miscarriages and 1 child).

I don't believe it's that rare, or at least it shouldn't be. Before transferring the 3day frozen one though I'd go a couple rounds trying to collect as much as possible.

According to my consultant, day 3 behave as well as day 5. She had a lot of success with day 3 transfers and for some pacients the outcome was much better than day 5. I chose to froze one day 3 and one day 5. The day 5 which was also top quality was unsuccessful. I haven't transferred the day 3 yet.

I only had one left so she said to freeze it was 8 cell grade 2 🤞

Norethisterone in IVF

Hi all. Wondered if anyone could offer me some reassurance please?

On a recent IVF cycle I took norethisterone prior to commencing treatment in order to control my cycle. We did pgta testing as in a previous cycle

Unlike the previous cycle, the cycle with norethisterone yielded only abnormal embryos. Could the norethisterone have impacted my response? I doubt it and was hoping for some words of encouragement.

Are there any ladies who have received good results for pgta when using norethisterone?
