Rectal progesterone pessaries

Hi,

I'm sorry this is so TMI..

Has anyone who's used progesterone rectally had a bright orange discharge on wiping? It's just stained the tissue orange, nothing physically there to inspect, and is obviously more liquidy than what else comes out that end. 🙈

I'm assuming this is maybe due to the pessaries? I've just started putting them up this way 5 days ago after being advised to due to cervical erosion from using them vaginally.

Basically I can't wait to be rid of them 🙃

Yeah, probably? It’s cyclogest you’re using? It’s gross, and I’ve never had bright orange, but it all gets a little liquidy for a while when the suppository dissolves so it’s probably that.

I find this way much better because I am prone to thrush and hate having to constantly deal with that side effect.

Yeah it's Cyclogest. I've had a bit of leakage before which is normally the same milky white colour of the pessary but this is literally bright orange staining on the tissue.

@xreadytoglow I’ve definitely had vaguely coloured leakage (what fun!) but more of an expected colour iykwim. Had a quick Google and it seems you aren’t the only one with this orange issue, so I would bet it is the progesterone!

@xreadytoglow what was the outcome of this? Did you switch to vaginal? I’ve been having this from Cyclogest too

@LuckyNo14 just seen this thread pop up. I get this with cyclogest. I don't think it's anything to worry about and personally I won't be switching to vaginally which is messier and can cause irritation. Best of luck x
