MMC - d&c before FET

I just wonder if anyone has experience of a missed miscarriage before a FET?

I had a MMC at 11 weeks and now waiting for a final scan on Tuesday and booked into a D&C on Wednesday.

I just suddenly had a wobble about the d&c taking out my lining and might mean I can't do a FET or it might not work.

I am keen to do the FET in the next couple of months when my body is ready as I just want to move on and try again, but I don't know if medical management is a better option.

Has anyone had any experience of this? And generally of a FET after a missed miscarriage?

Thanks.

I'm really sorry for your loss. I had a Mmc after my FET in November. I had a d&c (my first, but not my first miscarriage). I was all set to do a transfer next month, but when I went for my baseline scan, the doctor thought he saw scarring and my lining was not great, so mine is delayed until I've had a hysteroscopy. But my cycles returned to normal straight away.

I ended up with retained tissue after medical management and a super long cycle (mine are usually 25 days).

I waited for our baby's cytogenetic results which took 11 weeks, but I got the impression from my clinic that they would have let me do my FET sooner as the nurses called me in December. But we needed that time.

I'd say if you feel ready in a couple of months, have a baseline scan the cycle before you want to do your FET and see how things are. I was really shocked there's an issue and thought it was a bit unnecessary but I'm glad I did.
Best wishes x

Thanks for your message. Sorry for your loss too and sorry you’ve had to deal with issues after the op.

i think I will probably go for the op, but may just ring the clinic and see what they say.
I am just hoping my body will come through and miscarry naturally before the operation but that doesn’t seem likely at the moment!
it’s just a rubbish situation isn’t it!
