Advice for EMBRYO TRANSFER day and the days after

Dear all

I had my embryo transfer yesterday and I find myself worrying if I have already messed it up. I went to the clinic twice yeserday via London tube (first for my embryo transfer and again in the afternoon in order to collect the syringes, needles for the progesterone injections I needed to start having).

I have found many US and Greek sites saying that the first day you should be in complete rest where 2nd to 4th still not much movement. Post 4th day you can move more freerly. My clinic, Lister, said that it is ok that I travelled twice to the clinic on the day of my embryo transfer but now with everything I read, I am getting very worried, especially as I am 45 years old.

Any succesful experiences having a baby, although you were not in complete rest on day 1 of the embryo transfer will be greatly appreciated.

Hello. I also travelled by tube for my embryo transfer (and walked up a hill as I live at the top) and then the next day went to work and travelled by tube. I am now 11 weeks pregnant. I was also massively worried as I felt quite achey after my day in work - especially as my bag was fairly heavy.

I'm sure I read about bed rest not being necessary. I would however recommend taking it easy - but mainly not to panic yourself.

I had my transfer today and was told to go about my days as normal. I have an active job and was told to carry on as normal, no need to rest or take it easy x

I went as normal on cycle 1

234 rested took things slow

5 normal

the 5th worked

honestly please don’t worry @NV42

if clinics thought bed rest was the easy answer they would tell all to take the 2ww off

most of back to work and carry on as normal

I want to thank you all for your responses. I am glad to say that I have tested positive so fingers crossed now, for the next nine months.

Hi everyone,

My first time posting here after spending the last few weeks following some of your IVF/ICSI journeys which I’ve found really helpful during what feels such a lonely time!

I’m 29 and we have male factor infertility.

Currently 4dp5dt (1st cycle) and wanted to reach out to see if anyone else is in their (dreaded) 2WW? Or has had a successful first cycle.

I’d love to connect with you and share journeys.
