Private embryo transfer at Guys St Thomas - Baby number 2

Hi everyone! Has anyone gone for a private embryo transfer at Guys recently? What was the process like?
Our LO turns one in the summer and we’re by no means ready for another baby quite yet, but I’m just curious to see what the process will be like. How long it will take, etc.
I think I might get in touch with them over the summer to explore our options.
We had IVF on the NHS in 2020 and would have to pay for everything going forward now.
Thank you! 😊

Hi @WaitingToExpect20 - I had a FET at Guys (private) on Tuesday. Had fertility preservation at Guys ACU (NHS) back in 2018 before starting chemotherapy. Given the all-clear by my oncologist to try for a baby, but according to NHS guidelines we’d have to try naturally for at least a year first (even though chemo has left me infertile…!) so decided to just go for it privately. Same doctors, same clinic - think the only difference is we didn’t have to wait at all, plus my doctor would text me or ring me out of hours to follow up on things. Good experience so far, now we’re just in the dreaded TWW!

Hi @pulfy!
Sorry to hear you‘ve had such a tough time getting to where you are now. That’s so exciting though, I’ve got my fingers crossed for you!

I did find them very good when we had our NHS treatment as well, the waiting list was just a nightmare and I found I had to be really proactive and on the ball. But that’s good to hear there’s no waiting list to go private.

Thanks for sharing!
