Hey,

We are due to start our first round of IVF at the beginning of June 2022 and I would love to chat to others who are going through the same thing to buddy up with.

A bit about our story so far..

Both myself and my husband are 32, although both turning 33 in the next 2 months. We started TTC in Feb 2020 and fell pregnant quickly, which sadly ended in a MMC at 6.5 weeks (discovered at 9).

Fell pregnant again in November 2020 but this ended with a very early MC at 5.5 weeks.

We had all of the standard MC tests and all of these came back clear with the exception of a mild blood clotting issue and were prescribed baby Asprin for all future pregnancies.

I fell pregnant for a third time in April 2021 and managed to get further than any pregnancy but it ended suddenly as the baby was found in my Fallopian tube at 7 weeks and I had to have an emergency operation to have my tube removed. It was a tough time to say the least!

We have now been TTC since our last pregnancy for nearly 12 cycles and have had no joy to date.

Have had all of the fertility tests done (sperm, AMH/FSH/AFC) which all came back as they should do for our age. Also had a HYCOSY done which confirms that my remaining tube was clear.

So - we have now decided to commit to a round of privately funded IVF. I am a bit of a control freak with all of this so I am trying to take a step back and leave it to the professionals.

We have all of our medication being delivered next week and my baseline scan booked for 23rd May 2022.

I would love to chat to anyone else who is going through the same thing at the same time so that we can support eachother!!

Xx

@Louise276

Hi Louise!

I'm so sorry to hear about everything you've been through so far!

How are you feeling about your medication? Are you on a long or short protocol?

I've just been through long protocol and had eggs collected yesterday.

What I'll say is, the medication etc can seem really daunting at first but it really does get easier once you get into a routine.

The hardest part for me is all the waiting involved. For example, I have no idea if any of my eggs will be good enough to freeze or transfer!

Here if you want to chat xxx

@Louise276 not sure if I can cycle buddy for the entire cycle. I have found that quite hard in the past during the TWW but in the lead up and stims it can be very nice to have people to talk to and ask questions etc. so I can be around for as much as I can manage.

We are hoping to start end of May but my clinic are taking a while to schedule my nurses consultation and I'm not sure what the hold up is. I'm going to call them Tuesday to get it settled. Like you I'm a little bit of a control freak and whilst I trust them I'm at a point I need some concrete dates, otherwise it feels like endless waiting.

We have to have a dummy transfer and 3D sis which I booked for 3rd May. The hopefully a week later I'd start tablets and then stims last week of May. This will be our first cycle with this new clinic but our second cycle overall. First one we got 7 eggs, 4 fert and 3 embryos. Failed transfers.took a long break and just starting back up now.

Have had some test done also have blood clotting issue so will have blood thinners throughout, also my thyroid came back high so I'm on levothyroxine and a lot of symptoms o didn't realise were symptoms of anything (like constant fatigue) are improving. Husband has DNA frag so new clinic suggested ICSI/IMSI to improve fert rates and also human growth hormone to encourage the growth of my stubborn follicles that lagged behind last time and didn't catch up.

I really hope that all the above are enough for this to work for us this time but I trust my consultant will do what it takes to also get us there.

Best of luck for you x
