TRIGGER SHOT HELP

Hi everyone, my egg retrieval is Saturday and I’ve been told not to use the HCG ovitrelle, but to use Gonapeptyl due to my blood results. I had 20 follicles on the last scan, 15 good size ones. Why would I be told to use the gonapeptyl? They’re saying its my age (28) number of follicles and bloods. I suppose I just dont want to be told to come back in a few months time for transfer :(

If you are at risk of OHSS and the estradiol levels are very high, they don't trigger with ovitrelle. It's best to transfer when everything settles down (hormones, ovaries, etc).

Just an update:

15 follicles, 9 eggs, 3 fertilised. Todays update is good but its hard not to worry that all 3 will stop developing :( once past day 3 update if they get that far then it should be easier to relax. Also my estradiol level was 2134.

Hmm that isn't a very high estradiol. In my first cycle my estradiol got up to 15000 so was triggered with buselin. Maybe they were concerned about the number of follicles? But 15-20 isn't that high either. Can you ask about their rationale?

I can do, but I feel slightly like its futile at the moment. I hate waiting to find out if the embryos will make it to day 5. Its such a shitty lottery.

Day 2: All 3 are fine. Fingers crossed for the same tomorrow but another day of good news feels like another hurdle gone.

The final update is.. out of 3 mature eggs fertilised, we got 2 top quality hatching blastocyst embryos on the morning of day 5. We had PGD they are both girls and have been frozen today. Thanks for your answers in regards to hormone levels etc. The battle is half won, now I need to get to 90kgs from 107kgs and then pop one back in in september. Wether it works or not Im going back for the other one.
