Trying to conceive with Hypothyrodism

Hi, I have been trying for my 2nd for 6 years, I had a mc in 2016 and nothing since. All this time I have been reluctant to go to the doctors about it but finally went this month and have been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism (under active thyroid). I am now on Levothyroxine and hoping this means my chances of conception has significantly increased.

Is anyone else in the same boat? Any success stories out there? Any advice appreciated.

I'm currently being tested for thyroid problems and vitamin D deficiency so am interested in any knowledge about it too! We've been doing IVF for nearly a year and will be starting our third go hopefully soon. But there's been times naturally that I've conceived and through IVF, but it never 'sticks'. It sounds morbid but I hope they find something with my thyroid or Vitamin D levels as it looks like they can be managed and people's chances of staying pregnant seem to increase!

Once your thyroid levels are normal, preferably with TSH being between 1 and 2 you should be fine. Once you get pregnant (hopefully!) you should let your doctor know immediately as they'll need to increase your dose to prevent miscarriage.

I have several thyroid issues and have never managed to conceive but the reason why is a mystery. I get my thyroid checked every month to ensure it's behaving while I'm TTC.

Thanks, it was a surprise diagnosis for me but I actually felt positive about it and it has kind of revived fresh new hope to conceive as hopefully my chances will have increased now that I am on the medication. Sooner rather than later 🤞🏻🤞🏻
