Fet - thick endometrial lining

Hi all

I wonder if anyone had been in the same situation as me. I've seen quite a lot of threads about people struggling to get a thick enough lining for transfer. But has anyone had a really thick lining?

My measurement on Monday was 17mm, just added progesterone to the mix today. All my transfers have been with a thick lining and unsuccessful. I've read a few research articles online that say chance of success decreases over 15mm but whenever I ask at my clinic they just say 'it can't be too thick', and look at me as if I'm crazy.

Has anyone had any success with thick linings?

I haven’t had success but I have the same concern as you. I’m going in for my first FET in the next week or two, had my first scan today. My follicle/s aren’t ready, but my lining is always pretty thick and I know it will be by the time they do the transfer. I said I didn’t want a medicated FET with oestrogen because I knew it was already thick each time I’ve been scanned and didn’t want to make it thicker still.

What did you do, medicated or natural?

I take medication for heavy periods so it was always going to be thicker than average.

I'm medicated Sad doing the short protocol though. I'm in 2mg of estrogen 3x a day. Just added progesterone so hopefully it doesn't get any thicker!

Natural cycle seems like a good idea .. I'm a little scared to let my odd body do its own thing Grin

At the scans nurses commented on me having thick lining and I was successful in the end. I don’t know measurements though. All the best.

@vincettenoir that’s useful to know!

@carlalalalah I’ll find out what mine is nearer the time of FET, but I don’t have heavy periods, they’re average/medium afaik. If you don’t have success this time will you try the non-medicated FET? I’m trying it this time and I’ll have to try medicated if this doesn’t work probably. My body is weird too and we’re not even sure if I ovulate but knowing my lining was fine made me decide to try natural. Oestrogen peaks give me thrush and withdrawal from it (every month) causes migraines, so the idea of more sounded awful.

@vincettenoir that's a relief to hear. Thanks!

@thislittlebird unfortunately this is my last little embryo and we can't afford to self fund (we only got one nhs go). So our fingers are firmly crossed! I think I ovulate but my ovaries are prone to cysts.
I had the worst 5 day migraine with this cycle thanks to the estrogen! Almost called it off but my body got used to it. The odd spot of nausea now, but all good.
I hope your natural cycle all goes well! Your body will thank you for it!

How did you get on with your thick lining? I always have a thick endometrium, I had a miscarriage in Feb and am now doing a FET. Today my lining is 14.4mm and we are planning to do the transfer in 6 days, so lord knows how thick it will be then!

I'm currently sat nap trapped under my completely gorgeous 3 and a half month old son.

My first transfer was a miscarriage too. I had 4 embryos, miscarriage at 8 weeks worth my first, my second and third nothing (well third gave me the faintest ever chemical) and 4th one, the lowest quality embryo, was the one that worked!

I hope your transfer goes really well 🥰

I have just testing on 7dpt and it’s negative :( really disappointed but hoping it’s too early.
