Short protocol IVF

Hi, I’m on day 6 of my first short protocol. I’m looking for ladies that are doing the same as a support network. I have my first scan on Monday to see how it’s all going and then hopefully egg collection next Friday or the following Monday.

Me :) I’m on day 12, final scan on Monday and hopefully egg collection midweek. My odds are poor (low AMH, low follicle count and MFI) but we thought we’d give it one round to see and say we’d tried xx

@Iwouldlikesomecake how have you found your injections? Fingers crossed it works for you. It’s always worth ago. How do you feel about your egg collection?

I actually work in healthcare so not really that bothered by injections; the Gonal-F is fine because the needle is so tiny but the Fyremadel is worse as the needle is bigger. My husband is well needle phobic so is staying away from me when I do it, I think it’s given him new respect for me! How have you found it?

I’m a bit nervous about egg collection but more preparing myself that they won’t find any eggs…

I am on a short protocol too. Took my last cetrotide tonight at 9pm and will trigger at 22.30. I have collection on Monday at 11. So nervous.

Heyyyyy I am new to all of this! Today is my cycle day 14 and I will start taking norethisterone today for 14 days! So nice to know there are other people on this journey, very anxious about the injections but I will try take everything as it comes! Any tips or advice would be hugely appreciated! I iced my skin before I did the injections and never felt anything. You wouldn’t know I was injecting anything at all by looking at my stomach. What meds are you taking?

Hey Hopefull, thanks for that tip I will remember it for when my injections start! I'm correctly on day 1 of taking Norethisterone, been told to take this for 14 days and then I will be on cetrotide and gonalf! What about you? Where are you on your journey? Hope its going well!

I was on birth control for 18 days and then had a bleed about 3 days later so last Tuesday week. I had my baseline scan on Wednesday and started gonal f (225). I then added the cetrotide on day 4. I only had one scan, which was Friday. The team in the clinic advised to take my final gonal f on Friday night and final cetrotide last night. I also triggered last night, egg collection is in the morning. Keeping my fingers crossed for some good mature eggs 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Just an small update. We got 20 eggs yesterday. Day 1 update 18 mature and 10 of those fertilised normally. We’ll get another update on Thursday.

We still have 10 in the game today. 2 of them are a small bit slower to develop but nothing to worry about according to the embryologist. I am heading myself for a massive fall between now and Saturday. The norm is 30 to 50 percent of day 3 eggs will make it to day 5.

How are you doing? Hope the meds are ok.

@Hopefull1981 fingers crossed you will still have a good amount come Saturday. It all sounds very positive for you, and hey you only need one good one to work. Yeah I’m doing ok thanks. I had my meds upped yesterday as my follicles aren’t growing as quick as they’d hoped. I’m booked in for another scan tomorrow so just hoping it’s better news.
How are you feeling?

@Suki2020 I felt awful Monday and Tuesday but back to normal now. Well I say normal but I am on steroids,antibiotics,progesterone, innohep(blood thinner) and dostinex. I have a scan tomorrow abs hopefully all going well we can have a fresh transfer on Saturday.

I hope you follicles have caught up at your scan tomorrow.

Thank you @Fern22 we got our day 5 call from the lab. We have 5 embryos for freezing. I was so flustered I didn’t hear the end of the grading. She definitely said 2x 3AA 2x 3BB and 1x3 ab maybe. The others are still there but some are at early blastocyst stage and other still dividing, they will leave for one more day.

Are these good quality? I see references to 5’s and 4’s but not so much 3’s.

Hey @Suki2020. All good here. I wore loose fitting clothes, I was so uncomfortable afterwards, oh and warm fluffy socks. How are you feeling about it?

Good luck @Suki2020! I have to say that I felt marvellous after EC and the sleep was great! Woke up, had a tea and biscuits, they were like ‘you slept for ages!’ And I was like yeah that’s cos I’m an nhs worker and I’m knackered 🤣 so you might find it’s not too bad xx

I'm on short protocol - started my Northisterone yesterday and trying to remain optimistic! Husband and I both hoping it doesn't affect my mood too much as I was a nightmare on the pill...

@DiscoStusMoonboots Heyyyyyy! I'm on like day 12 of Norethisterone, can't say it has had any negative side affects but today I got really angry for no reason and had a slight emotional moment after!

Hi ladies how are you all today. So just an update from me. EC went ok yesterday, little bit sore yesterday but ok today. They collected 10 eggs but 1 wasn’t any good. So out of 9 only 5 have fertilised so really disappointed, just hoping we have one left for Monday

@DiscoStusMoonboots we're on a very similar timeline, I started norethisterone on Tuesday so only a day ahead! When are you due to start stims?
