Has anyone been on Letrozole and had a shorter period bleed than normal?

We're you monitored at all? I only did one cycle on it before I started ivf, but on cd 9 my lining was still only 4mm and my follicles were small. I had to take estrogen and my lining improved and I got 3 follicles. I used ovitrelle as a trigger as well.
I'd ask for a monitoring scan next time.

Thanks for your reply. I have a scan on day 13 (first cycle of 3 with letrozole) I don't have many periods but when I do I am about 7/8 days. I had to take northisterone to cause a bleed to start the letrozole. Day 3 of my cycle and already calming down so wondered if was a cause of the medication :)

Hi, sorry for jumping on this thread but I couldn’t find anything else related! I’m on my cycle day 6 and have today taken my last letrozole dose, however my period is still quite heavy and shows no sign of easing up. Surely in the next few days I’m going to have to start having sex, but if I’m still bleeding then is there any point as surely I wouldn’t ovulate whilst im still on my period?? First cycle of letrozole and normally my periods are 12 days long so I was hoping they would be a lot shorter when I’m on letrozole?!

@KateC1988 I assume you're on letrozole cause your cycles are usually really long?

If so, your periods are probably heavy cause there's a long time for lining to build up. There's still a lot of lining from last long cycle. PLUS if you had to take medication to induce this period, that'll also make a bleed heavier.

When you get a letrozole dose that works, your periods will likely get less heavy as cycle length is normalised - I'm on the second dose that works cycle of letrozole and my period is working out about 4 days. What dose did they put you on?

For a 30 day cycle, aimed ovulation is cd14-18. You might have to have a bit of end of period sex or certainly asap afterwards.
