Failed IVF and spotting

Hi! I had a failed IVF transfer (got a BFN 4 weeks ago tomorrow.

After coming off the meds I had spotting 2 days later which turned into 2 days of a heavier bleed by day 6.

Fast forward two weeks on, and I started spotting which I hoped would turn into a full bleed but I'm still spotting a week later! Is this normal?

I was really keen to start down regging this month for a frozen cycle but without a proper bleed I'm worried the nurses will make me wait longer!

Has anyone else spotted for over a week with a failed IVF?

Did you actually test again?

I once tested and got BFN but then spent 5 weeks spotting & bleeding after my failed fresh cycle. I’d had a couple of cycles previously so knew I shouldn’t still be bleeding & re tested. It was BFP. Sadly ended in MC but-and I don’t want to get your hopes up-it would be worth retesting just because the fertility clinic will likely ask.

Every other failed fresh cycle I just had a normal period then my usual 28 days before my next period, I didn’t experience any spotting in between.

Hey @Igotchills thanks for not reading and running! Gosh, no I haven't tested again. I'm at the stage where I find them triggering 😔 and I should be so lucky - with my failed transfer a month ago I tested neg on day 14 with a 5 day blast so for me, the chances are basically nothing. I'm so sorry yours ended in a MC though and I hope you've had some luck since?

Sorry, I totally understand. I even find LFT upsetting sometimes tbh although I did, thankfully have one DC.
Wishing you success with your fertility journey, I hope the spotting settles and you don’t have to wait too long for your FET Flowers

@Igotchills thank you! I did bite the bullet and retest in the end but as expected it was negative. I guess it's just my hormones from the last cycle playing up. I'll wait to see what the nurse says tomorrow as to whether I can start down regging this month.
And congratulations on having a DC! I always love hearing of success. You're blessed. Have a lovely day 😊
