Success stories of two babies from one round of IVF

Hello,

I'm looking for some success stories of people who have had two babies using one egg collection. I had an egg collection in 2019 to produce four embryos, I was lucky with baby #1, but had a failed cycle second time for baby #2 and hoping this isn't the end for us in terms of success with this batch of embryos. Hope needed!

Hi there,

Yes, there is hope. I had one egg collection in 2018. From that they collected 6 eggs (all mature). Only 3 fertilised and 2 of those made it to day 5 blasts. Ironically, I was high risk for OHSS, despite so few eggs being collected so had to freeze all. First FET resulted in DS, born summer 2019.

We transferred the remaining embryo in August last year, not having much hope of it working but had decided we would accept our fate and this would be our last attempt….no more egg collections for us. Surprisingly it was successful and I am nearly 34 weeks pregnant with baby number 2.

Another irony was we fully expected to have to do a few full rounds to have any success and had actually paid almost £17,000 for a 3 cycle 100% refund programme with Access Fertility, so paid far more than we would have done had we not taken out that “insurance policy”. No regrets there though, as we have been extremely lucky.

Sorry to hear you have had a failed second cycle. I really hope it works out for you and your next go us successful. Best of luck!
