IVF at London Women Clinic

Hello Mums,

Currently I am undergoing the IVF treatment at London Women's Clinic (privately)

I am 42 years old and have a son come conceived naturally. But now have been diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis and hence the IVF route. My AMH is in normal range for my age (which is low naturally).

I have had one stimulation cycle last year which failed (the follicles didn't grow as expected) and we didn't reach the egg collection stage. After that my endometriosis flared up (2 new cysts etc) and I had my second cycle of stimulation (short protocol this time) last month, but unfortunately no eggs could be collected though there were 8 follicles. Nurse said the ovulation triggered didn't seem to work properly.

I am yet to review the same with my doctor on Wednesday, but wanted to know if anyone have any experience with London Women's Clinic? After being them for more than year, should we look for other opinions too? Any other clinic and reviews please, esp for IVF at my age?

Thanks

I’m with London egg bank which seem to share premises/some staff with LWC. I moved from another clinic and found them much more organised, though on the nursing side communication can be variable - some excellent, some not so. Have seen 2 doctors (one was covering for the other’s leave) and I thought both were great, after issues with my meds one phoned me late in the evening to talk it through with me. I haven’t had any major concerns or problems with them so far, and I appreciated them not trying to “upsell” lots of non evidence based tests and addons.

Hi! I'd go to the fertility exhibition next month, since you're already located in london it wouldn't be as difficult.

There are going to be many clinics, specialists, nurses, and you will have the chance to talk to all of them. I went to an exhibition like this last year in Paris (from the same organisers), and it helped me a lot find the clinic for me. I was able to make sure they''re specialized in IVF in my age (40+) and also made sure I was able to communicate well with them.
