How did you feel after egg collection? How long did it last?

I had my egg collection on Tuesday, so 3 days ago, had 9 eggs collected. I was a bit crampy afterwards but nothing too bad. Wednesday I was surprised that I felt almost completely fine, definitely still sensitive though.

Yesterday and today I feel like I’m now getting what feels like period pains, I started my progesterone yesterday so I’m not sure if it’s because of that? I also have stomach ache, not uterus or ovary pain but actual stomach pain.

I was a bit concerned about the period type pains as I worried I wasn’t doing the progesterone correctly although tbh how can you do it wrong!

Just wanted other people’s experiences :)

Hi @FruitTwistFanta could you be constipated? I've done a few egg collections now, and after each one it's taken a good few days for my bowels to get back to normal, which has sometimes resulted in cramps. Suggest making sure you're keeping your fluids up. Also, progesterone can cause cramping. Hope that helps!

I developed a UTI after my egg collection so keep an eye on anything that feels like that. I ended up on antibiotics and wasn't able to have my fresh transfer. Lots of water and cranberry juice!

Thanks both, I’m feeling a little bit better now so just going to keep drinking lots of water!

@FruitTwistFanta I felt awful day after EC- sorry for TMI, I was constipated then had diarrhoea. I took dioralyte, drank loads of isotonic drinks like lucozade sport anddrank litres of water . I also increased my protein to 60g a day as my clini advised all this to prevent or stop OHSS. I was better by the Monday I had it done Friday.

Hope this helps.

@PMAmostofthetime thanks! I’m taking the crinone gel so hopefully it’s up there lol.

There is something that I’m trying to google but can’t find a definitive answer-do we produce our own progesterone in IVF or is it purely coming from the supplements?
