Catching Covid during FET

Hello everyone
I’m currently seven days into my medicated frozen embryo transfer and have tested positive for Covid. I’m not due into the clinic for a scan for another week - with embryo transfer another week after that. Do you think I’ll still be alright to go ahead with the transfer provided I’m testing negative by then? My embryo is already made and i should be clear of the virus before im next due in to the clinic. Does anyone know if catching the virus before transfer causes risks to success of the embryo? Even if testing negative before transfer? I’d love to say we could just delay but we are right at the end of ivf journey both age wise and mentally ( been a long journey) and I’m just so worried I’m going to asked to cancel it but also really worried having the virus, even if recovered , will affect success
Sorry for the ramble - hope that all makes sense !
Thanks for reading x

Honestly I don't have the answers but they are saying it's ok for pregnant women to have the vaccines and not too concerned about them getting Covid now- so I would try not to worry. Isolation is 5 days now so at least it won't affect you going to your appointment. If your really worried give your clinic a call.

Thanks a lot for replying. I’ve had two negative tests now so think I should be ok - although I’m sure the fact I’ve been I’ll and am not at my super fittest will probably play on my mind during the 2ww and whatever outcome ensues …
Thanks again for replying

@Brightertimesahead I think we over think everything and that's normal as we all want it so badly.

I'll tag you into a thread that i'm on now- everyone on there's super supportive and May be able to offer more advice.

Hi @Brightertimesahead I hope went smoothly with your FET and you’re keeping sane during the 2ww? Just wondering, did you ask your clinic whether having Covid would have any impact? I’m just interested as I had an embryo transfer this morning and I’m just on my way home and my husband has just text to say he’s tested positive 😭 We live in a small house so difficult to isolate, and I have a tendency to pick up everything going.

@Agapanthus13 Hi there - congratulations on making it to transfer. Don’t panic about the covid thing - my clinic said it only really matters if you have it before coming in for transfer because they wouldn’t allow you into the clinic and therefore the transfer would have to be cancelled. It’s not anything to do with physiological concerns about implantation being compromised or anything like that. They said women get colds all the time before transfer and after and there is nothing to suggest these have any impact on implantation. They also used the example of women with the HIV virus who successfully get pregnant to illustrate their point.
Hope that reassures you. Best of luck with your 2ww - I hope the time passes quickly for you x

@Brightertimesahead thank you so much for replying and sharing your clinics comments, that’s really helped calm me. The whole IVF process is so emotionally stressful as it is, I think I just went in to panic over drive this afternoon. I’ve banished my husband to the spare room and will try and keep our distance x
