Probiotics

Sorry in advance if this is a potential repeat, I feel like the talk about probiotics has got a little lost over the other threads, and a go to thread for it would be useful for those taking probiotics/looking to start taking them.

Please drop below which ones you take/recommend and if you've noticed any difference in doing so.

To start with, I have been taking Optibac for Women (2 tablets orally) and Canesflor (1 vaginally). I have purchased Muvagyn too, which is another vaginal probiotic, not yet started taking this as it was my backup option.

I've read through the threads and noticed many seem to take the course in a bulk rather than breaking it down. I am thinking to do the same too, with a weekly upkeep of say twice a week?

Let me know your thoughts :)

Also took optibac for women.

Canesfor pessaries

Symprove - a drink not specific for women but meant to be good. Your partner can do this too.

Bio femme v from invivo - contains crispatus which is apparently key. Nutritionist told me to take one in the mouth and one in the fanny alternating with my canesflor.

This was the thing I did differently before getting pregnant with twins after numerous implantation failures. Probably coincidence but as these things go one of the cheaper things to try.

@whatcangowrong congrats on your twins! interesting! I will definitely be looking into the INVIVO Bio Femme as i've read about it elsewhere and it seems to be a top rated product.

@whatcangowrong did you continue to use the probiotic suppositories when pregnant ?

Thanks for starting this as I’ve found it all a little overwhelming. My fertility nutritionist recommended:

Invivo Bio Me Femme V - vaginal lactobacilli
Invivo Prebio GOS - prebiotic food for good bacteria
Invivo Bio.Me Essential - Microbiome support (to stop with positive pregnancy test)

I also take Symprove.

I’d been taking Garden of Life Once Daily Women’s before all of this and have continued as it contains other forms of lactobacillus as well as bifidobacterium, which I believe covers general gut health and not just vaginal health. But someone mentioned on a thread that this could potentially reduce the effectiveness of the vaginal probiotics.

Recently finished a course of Canesbalance BV Gel followed by Canesflor topical vaginal pessaries. And I’m about to do a course of antibiotics before my upcoming EndomeTRIO.

So much to think about on top of everything else!

Hi,
I know this was a while ago but just wondering can I just ask what was the reason you were taking all of these? I just had invivo test done and was advised to take Bio femme v as I need to get rid of lactobacillus Iners dominance (apparently it’s not good to have this dominant strain) and increase lactobacillus crispatis.

someone said probiotic suppositories are better so interesting you were able to use the bio femme v that way. Did they say why? Who was your nutritionist. Thinking I need to see one.

my partner and I are already on symprove prescribed by our gastroenterologist.
