Only 2 follicles on day 8 of stims

Had my day 8 scan yesterday and I’m devastated that I only have one follicle developing on each side. I’m apparently on quite a high dose of stims (225 Ovaleap and 150 Meriofert) but my body just isn’t responding. They had trouble finding both ovaries as they were very ‘hidden’, which was agony in itself.
I have another scan on Monday and meds for stims for one extra day. However the clinic have said that if they can’t see any other follicles they may have to abandon the cycle. I feel so sad and deflated. My AMH was on the low side at 4 pmol so apparently this is to be expected. I’m 41, 42 in September so every month counts, but can’t help thinking this is a sign that I’m not meant to be a mum.

I'm so sorry ❤️ I have low amh and I did mild ivf at Create, so I was on 225 bemfola. I only really had 2-3 follicles in my scans but the clinic weren't concerned as that's what they expected with my amh (and I was prepared as we'd discussed it before I started).

In the end they got 7 eggs, but only 3 fertilised. All 3 made top quality blastocysts. We transferred one but it was a chemical. The second was transferred but I had a missed miscarriage. This baby was chromosomally normal. I do have a history of recurrent losses, so it was nothing to do with the ivf or embryo.

I'd maybe explore a different protocol and try a gentler stimulation. The idea is that focusing on a smaller number of follicles / eggs helps the quality.

I had 3 follicles and was about to abandon. I now have my baby after rounds of ivf and losses. We often talk about how close we came to quitting the round. It’s a tough decision and wishing you all the luck in the world

Thank you both for your replies. We had another scan today and they’ve cancelled the cycle. I’m devastated. My womb lining wasn’t thick enough, I still only had two follicles and they were small. They said it was like my body hadn’t got out of down regulation (despite the large amount of stims). Egg donation has already been mentioned, but not sure this is something we want.
Another appointment on Wednesday to discuss further treatment, possibly short protocol. Just very upsetting x

I'm very sorry to hear this @BoysBagsShoes ❤️ it's so hard. Take some time to look after yourself. I'm glad you're seeing your doctor soon to discuss options. Short protocol with milder stimulation could be a better approach for you. Sending love x

Yes, I always did short protocol (Max doses). I hope that makes a difference for you lovely, my stats were dire and the clinic basically gave me close to zero percent chance of success. It can happen
Are you following the advice in it starts with the egg? Also a low carb high protein diet seemed to improve my results too
