Secondary infertility - GP help?

I suffered primary infertility for many years (suspected endo) and following many rounds of IVF and MCs I was lucky enough to have my DS for which I am beyond grateful. I am now TTC naturally for a sibling. With my history I know my chances are almost zero however I wondered if it would be reasonable to ask my GP if they can help with any blood tests or even a scan to see how things are looking. I am reluctant to ask due to receiving very little help the first time round so wondered what help (if any) others have been able to get?

It can go either way if I'm honest - you don't get treatment on the NHS for secondary infertility in terms of IVF etc so many GPs won't see the necessity of sending you for scans that a private clinic would do anyway as part of privately funded IVF. Also NHS wait lists at the moment are long so if you are thinking of going down the IVF route I'd just go straight to a private clinic

Hi op after 2 years of ttc I went to my doctor and he did bloods scans etc. Nhs don't fund secondary infertility in regards to ivf but when I found my private clinic for the ivf I asked my gp if he could help with the bloods and scans you need before ivf starts and he agreed to do those for me, which saved a little bit of money as ivf is just so costly privately. You could always ring ahead like I did and just ask about it and see what they say.

Thanks everyone. I don't think I have it in me to go through IVF again (I didn't get any funded rounds the first time anyway) so not looking for help with that. I think I'll give them a call and see what they say.
