Alcohol (and sex [blush] !) after egg collection..

I'm doing egg freezing so obviously it's a bit different from normal IVF as I'm not expecting to get pregnant soon.. so for those who also did egg or embroyo freezing/banking and you weren't going straight into another cycle, when did you have alcohol after EC? I'm on antibiotics for a few days as a preventative measure against any infection, so I obviously wouldn't drink then. I asked the nurse on EC day (Sun) and she seemed to sort of lump it in with the other things I shouldn't do such as hot baths/heavy exercise etc and said 5-7 days but she didnt seem too sure (I'm guessing because most women are usually still trying to get pregnant!). I have an event on Thurs it would look strange to not drink at (and indeed I fancy a drink after two cycles back to back so no alcohol for a few months).

Additionally, they have said in the information sheet no penetrative sex until my next cycle starts - is this something everyone else stuck with? I think I had sex about 8 or 9 days after my last EC and was fine.. wondering if I should leave it a week or so to be careful?

In case it's relevant, I have DOR and this time there was only one egg so only one entry point/minimal soreness/bloating/side effects and pretty much feeling back to normal. I appreciate it's different if you've got lots of eggs or have OHSS etc..

TIA for any input/experiences. It feels a bit embarrassing to make a "thing" of it by asking again/checking the reasons etc with the clinic as if I'm an alcoholic nymphomaniac who can't wait Blush but I'm just interested to know what others did..

Alcohol is absolutely fine if you’re doing a freeze all.

The no sex thing is for infection control as they’ve poked a rather large needle through your vaginal wall to get to your ovaries, and ideally things need to heal a bit, plus the follicles will be filled with blood. I got sepsis after egg collection (not from sex) and 1/10 do not recommend the experience!
